tailgate bump stop extensions

Hello, does anyone here know where I can get tailgate bump stop extensions for my 2003 TJ? I can't seem to find them anywhere. I need 2.5 to 3 inches over the stock ones. Thanks.

Just extend them yourself. Cut some correct diameter PVC pipe, paint it black and place it between the stock rubber and the gate, then get longer bolts.

Excuse my ignorance (which I have in abundance), but what purpose do the bump stops serve? I looked after seeing this post and mine do not touch the tire as well.

They prevent forward and back movement of the top and bottom of the spare. Enough of that movement can cause rips in the sheetmetal where the spare tire bracket mounts to the tailgate, especially when you close it. A bigger spare, or one further out from the tailgate can move more, so they especially need the bump stops.

Makes sense. I have some shock grommets left over from a kit I used for my old Bronco. Those should work nicely.
