A tummy tuck is possibly my best mod. Getting rid of the stock TC skid not only gives you clearance, it also gives you a smooth surface to slide over rocks.

Look into 12oclocklabs. They have a speedo corrector that is about 1/2 the price and comes with the correct connectors.

Man, I'm like 10000% on board. I'll PM you and we can find a time to meet up and BS. First beer is on me.

Hopefully they have caught up with the times up there... I did a few projects at the National Lab and we ended up spending a few weekends there. I'm not a bar guy but we didn't have much better to do, so we started asking around and I was shocked to find that there weren't any real bars or breweries (at least there weren't any the locals were willing to tell us about lol). They were all sports-bars mainly (this was about 7 years ago now). Again, I'm not a bar/crowd guy and neither was the guy working with me - so having to deal with a loud sports bar atmosphere on a Sunday wasn't worth the beer, so we ended up getting some good whiskey and walking around in the woods across from the Holiday Inn Express

I'll say this, Los Alamos has some impressively good food for a small town though.

We are very limited here. Living in a cul de sac town full of phd's has its pros and cons! We do have a few brew pubs now but not exactly a food and entertainment hub! I generally prefer getting together for beverages at my house or friends places. Or garages!

This, 100%. I'd much rather drink a beer around a fire in the side yard than hit a bar. Especially since the 3(?) Bars we have are kinda not my scene.

I hear ya there - I'm the same "whiskey around a fire" type of guy (though I never really enjoyed drinking and wrenching). No one working up there was actually from there, so a whiskey-walk around the forest was perfect. We ended up taking quite a few hikes when we could. I'm a big guy but am generally in shape and can keep up with skinny folk. That said, I have never been so short of breath in my life as I was on this drive/walk-around above 9000' ASL!

I remember reading during my time up there that Los Alamos had the highest concentration of millionaires in the country. It was so funny seeing it full of Hondas and Subarus

No doubt. Most cars here are 10+ years old too, aside from being "regular folk" type cars. I think it comes from the scientific mindset of "if it works and I have x dollars wrapped up in it, why would I spend 3 times x to get something that will do the same thing, with amenities that I don't find useful?"

It's interesting to see people cruising around in a 2002 Subaru that make 300k+ a year. But hell, good on em.

I feel attacked!!

My 2005 Soobie hauled a lot of stuff and went through more snow than most Jeeps... it unfortunately saw an early death due to a tow truck not paying attention on an on-ramp)

Hahahaha for sure. Subies are really popular here. They are great for the amount of snow and type of terrain we have here.

Yes to both of those. I do see a lot of teslas on the road. Probable gonna be seeing more now that they opened up a dealership close by.

And while I enjoy a beer as much as the next guy, my two main hobbies, guns and cars, don't mix well with beer. Definitely only have them when the hobbies are done for the day.
