Agreed. If you look closely, you can see the safe-t-cap frame patches and they look nicely done. I'm sure some folks who have never lived in the salt belt would say "but why, get a new frame, blah blah." I say, nice job!

I was hoping to see the pics of the repair...from the title, that what I expected to see, not a 20 foot paint job.

I guess I posted the finished frame to early...I recorded all of my build but haven't had time to edit and post . I added a few more pics to give you guys an idea of what was done. This is my wifes jeep, she bought in 2007,and had 19000 miles on it when we met 10 yrs ago. I'm try to save it for her. She is happy with it . That's all that matters.I put some new wheels and tires on it yesterday. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Damn, that is some nasty rust. I guess it makes you wonder at what point is it just more cost effective to seek out a rust free frame and swap it in instead? Either way, it's a cool project for sure. Glad to see you're giving it a new lease on life.

I could not locate a good frame locally and I was kinda up for the challenge. I enjoyed every bit of it. I'm looking to find a CJ to play around with soon. And thanks for the positive feedback

Nasty rust. Glad to see it getting a new lease on life, nice work!

How many miles on the rig at time of repair? (I see you said it had 19k ~10 years ago) I am assuming it was driven often in the Winter in the rust belt. Time to buy a case of Fluid Film and coat her up if she will be seeing salty roads again

It's got 63000 on on it now. It got new wheels and tires yesterday.

I ended up using the frame kit from Pocono fab..I also did the Eastwood rust inhibitor for the exterior and interior frame . I got caught up in the internet worm hole on what to use, so this is what I chose. I also under coated the bottom of the tub.
