Tworley build

New shoes on the DD. Falcon Wildpeak AT4Ws. These replaced the worn out duratracs. The 3 mile drive home and these are very quiet. I'll get some highway speeds in this evening. The duratracs had 67k miles on them and honestly, probably should have been replaced 10k miles ago. They are a great tire, but I was ready to try something new. The AT4Ws are slightly narrower, and slightly heavier.

I cannot wait to get the duratracs off of my DD, but they have way too much tread left after only 25k. I rotate every 5k, but they’re ridiculously noisy. I’m thinking about going with Michelins; I figure I’m qualified to run them now that I’ve turned 50.

I’ll be interested to hear how the AT4Ws work for you over the winter.

Mine certainly got noisy as they wore down. Brand new they were pretty quiet I thought. A lot of complaints about their road noise.

My BIL suggested these to me. I'm surprised at the results. I know I said no more garage pics but I wanted a quick clean before jeeptober next weekend.

DO you need to use both, web descriptions make it seem like reload functions the same as both products?

You dont need to. The hydr02 you spray on and immediately rinse off. The reload you spray on and wipe on, followed by a wipe off with microfiber towels. I tried both, I think I like the reload better.

Yesterday was my first real crawling experience with the hydro assist. There were times before where if I wasn't paying attention, the steering wheel would get ripped from my hands. Not the case yesterday, one handed driving the whole way. The only I time I felt where the steering would get heavy, was in reverse, which I'm not sure why that is. Crawling up the rock wall and resetting multiple times while listening to a spotter, the steering never felt heavy nor did I have to bump the throttle. The cooler was definitely warm, I could only touch it for a few seconds.

I did some winching yesterday too. The thimble needs moved for sure. The flux bumper and winch plate held up great. The flux bumper is officially broken in with these minor scratches

Its nice not having to wrestle with the Jeep. Now you can focus more on driving and controlling it. The hydro assist is a similar improvement to an automatic.

Might need a bigger steering gear and pump to handle the cylinder.

What do you mean we're not done yet! We still have next weekend!

My wife just informed me it's her birthday next weekend. So I asked her if she wanted to go wheeling for her birthday and she said no. I told her I would see her around dinner time then....

...now I can't get back in the house. 🤷

My son got too much sunshine. so my photo is all washed out

He still had a bunch of other good photos! I was watching the BFH video on youtube where he was sprinting up the rock garden trying to get photos of everyone. He's definitely nimble on his feet.
