Took the mirrors off the jeep this wknd and sanded them down then applied Rustoleum etching primer followed by Rustoleum Bedliner. Not perfect but pretty good.. Oh, also put on new mirror boots.
Finished my half doors and got them installed! Super stoked they turned out great both inside and out.

Here’s a link to the work these doors underwent.
Also, on today’s episode of “deals of the day,” I scored an NOS tan soft top with tinted windows and all hardware for $100, as well as an NOS instatrunk.

Weirdly enough, the top fabric and windows are way thicker than they are on my OEM 2000 top. It almost feels like sailcloth? Not sure if they changed materials over the years but either way I’m stoked!
Good to know! I remember my 02 oem top felt heavier so I figured they made a switch. That’s an amazing deal! And yep, they switched to the heavier top fabric in 2001. When I bought my 2000 the 01’s were just starting to trickle in and that was one of the main changes they were talking about.

How hard was that? I’ve done several drum brakes for other vehicles and this forum got me spooked on Jeeps.
This is awesome, all the way around ..he uses it, enjoys it and maintains it.Took the jeep from san diego to Idaho elk hunting. Unfortunately it was early / pre rut and while I did get on one nighttime screamer I ran out of time before I could make a play. Did call a pack of wolves in, in the dark timber right at dusk. As they closed the distance I decided maybe that's not the best time and place to make a stand, and booked it back to camp. Big windstorm knocked down half the trees in the forest . Spent half a day winching trees off the ridge road. Shoulda took a saw.
Got back and tackled the valve cover leak and replaced the tranny mount. Slowly chasing down all the little nuiscancy problems...
Changed fuel injectors and installed injector / fuel rail insulation while I was at it. The new ones (not oem) caused a nightmare of issues, wouldn't seal at all. Took two days before I put the old ones back in.
Two weeks and it's back to Idaho for some wolf/bear/elk.

What's the furthest you've driven for a deal? For me, it was driving to Prescott last November for a complete NOS LJ soft top ($150).
I do enjoy it, and I’m glad someone scours CL and such as much as I do I saw that one last night actually that’s a heck of a deal too. That's a steal! You and I enjoy deal hunting. lol. I drove to Scottsdale yesterday to pickup a Bestop LJ sailcloth kit for $180. It was barely used.

I had someone ship me a set of the Mopar Rock Rails from Hollywood for $250 shipped I think. I’m glad he was willing to do it because those are super hard to find. Someone on the forum actually found them for me in the WTD section! Not driving, but found two OEM bikini tops on Craigslist in Arizona. Had to ship a box to the guy with a prepaid label to ship them back to California. $30/each. spent more in shipping, but damn that factory latching system is worth it!
Fantastic post. I have had Bull dogs for over 60 years. I am ready to add one more. I love all dogs but the only reason I like Bull dogs is because they are the only dog that I am smarter than.Took the new puppy for his first Jeep ride.
