Now that summer is over and the doors and top are back on, it is time to park the jeep in the garage for some upgrades. Have some rust issues to address first. Then it is on to the fun stuff. My plan is listed below. Looking for opinions/advice on the plan. The jeep will see about 80% on road use so I want it have good street manners. When I take it off road, it will be light weight stuff, but I want it to be more capable than anything I try. Don't want any trail breakdowns. Off road driving will vary between the Hatteras beaches, Uwharrie off road trails, and mountain roads.
Lift - OME 2.5 lift w/ 1.25" BL and MML (DPG)
Wheels - 15 x 8 wheel (Is stock 15 x 7 wheel OK for this tire?)BFG KO 33 x 10.5
Front Axle - Dana 30 - Powertrax No Slip, 30-spline Chromalloy Axles, 4.10 Gears
Rear Axle - Dana 35 - Detroit True Trac (Wish they made this in a 30 spline version.)(Also looking at Eaton electric locker, but it is twice the cost.), 27-spline Chromalloy Axles, 4.10 Gears
2005, 4.0L, 6-sp manual
Thanks for any suggestions.
ps: Thanks for all who have contributed to this site. I referenced it a lot in my last 5 months as a Jeep owner. It has helped me address some annoying problems. Also some very helpful information on upgrades. Thanks.
