I wish you would have read the instructions on the little square of brown paper in the box with the u-joints.

Yes, and the way you know that wasn't done is the lack of markings on the caps and cross.
Dang, mrblaine, what did it say? I took the u-joint paper off and did not even see any instructions. I went back to look fot the little paper but couldnt find them.

My typical trail environment includes plenty of mud. My gut says that isn't the case for you?

It says that there is a very specific amount of grease put in each cap at the factory and since we can't predict how much will stay in hte cap and how much on the cross when we pull a cap off, each cap should go back onto the trunnion pin it was removed from.
man, ya know i called and even asked about adding a little grease to the caps, was told I could dab a little inside,, but if i put too much the grease would ease out he little seals. My guess is that they drove around with axle tubes full of mud?
I know that's what I was doing before I added the outer seals...
when yall are doing axle changes , do you also change out he hubs for good measure? im sure its a great time to look at ball joints too. mayby even change out front brake pads if needed????
Just because folks say stuff, does not mean they know what they are talking about. Right from Spicer, right out of the u-joint box.
And that was such a big issue that the OEM went a very long way to figure out how to solve it, right?
Lots of words come to mind !! Should i leave them installed and go with it or take them out, buy new uj-oints and reinstall?
