You know you're driving a TJ when you hop in your Wrangler and there is not a single duck on the dash.

When I first got my TJ..I bought and had shipped across the country...so I mean...I was test driving it out to see if I had made a big mistake...The first time driving it...I kept seeing this check engine light or something going off and on intermittently...and I thought GDAM.IT,,,first day engine light...but it was a weird symbol...I got out the manual..put on my reading glasses...its the light that goes on to tell you when to SHIFT gears...I have a manual 5 speed! And I thought...wow...how modern!

...you get into a 20 minute Jeep conversation with a stranger every time you stop at 7-Eleven in it
I've got the 6spd and never had that light. Probably another defective warning. My 4WD light doesn't work either.

Good Grief. Actually chatgpt says some models do have it..it does seem to go on right when you should probably shift..I dunno..i usually just putt around in 2nd or 3rd.
My new policy when I get ducked is to walk to another Jeep in the lot and duck them. Sometimes I wonder if I'm ducking the duck that ducked me.

Well I can tell you that the 97 to 99 ‘export’ model TJ’s don’t have a shift light.
I can’t speak for the later models.

Reminds me of my old girlfriend. She would ask "Is it supposed to creak like that?" I just said "yep"....When your passenger asks what clunk is but you're totally unbothered by it.
