Moving lower control arm mount point and anti-squat question

“banded”???? ”fanboise”????

don’t know who it is, but they need to re-take Spelling

@Lightning got quiet quickly after throwing some shade.

This is going to be the one time I will say you do need to look at different springs at least the front. The RE 3.5 fronts have a 240# rate which is far too high even compared to other 4 inch springs and higher than the rears 225# which is backwards on the rate split.

Antisquat effects handling and not ride. Two biggest contributors to bad ride will be shocks and tire(more importantly tire pressure).

Wow. Ok I didn't mean to stumble into an ongoing argument haha My apologies for kicking it off again.

In my particular case, I live half way round the planet so any mid/long arm solutions are prohibitively expensive (shipping and ~40% import duties....it gets insane very quickly). Right hand Drive also complicates things especially on the front end.

I'm running Bilstein 5100's, which I know is probably 90% of the harsh ride problem. Just trying to figure out other things to try before trying to find other shocks as again, the selection of easily available shocks is very limited here. I can MAYBE find OME's but they really are more angled to the overlander pickup market here and not Jeep stuff at all. The American brands are almost non existent here....no Rancho etc.
(on 33s, run em around 1.8bar....I know the tyre pressure drill)

If I can get even a slight improvement in comfort moving the lowers down, without making it handle WORSE, That'a a win for me as it's basically free.

The good news is neither of those, the mid or long arm answer will inherently improve your ride quality. But, if someone sends you some shocks as a gift, do you still have to pay import duties?

How much weight do you have inside the rear cargo area assuming the hardtop and spare on the back are still accurate?

Or maybe you and three friends can each receive a “WARRANTY REPLACEMENT SHOCK” 😉😉😉

We'd have to see how they view that. It isn't out of the question to arrange some very good shipping rates we have access to for special occasions. Very limited use and never for business but could still make it worthwhile.

Weight wise. Stock rear bumper, steel front. and that's pretty much it. No winch or any other armor. Standard tailgate carrying the 33 (I know. One day I'll do a basic rear bumper and swingout)

Hard top now and then and I have the back seats in but I doubt that counts.

Import duties are kinda vague when it comes to "gifts" but usually you do still have to pay. What did you have in mind? I'm open to buying shocks if I know they're gonna help, and be the correct length etc.

Stuff that is available on Amazon I can buy but have to use DHL/UPS because our domestic post office is entirely useless. Like stuff just gets stolen or never arrives.
