Jeep TJ paint job

Good paint jobs are expensive and to me not worth it for the way I use my LJ. It's my camping, trail, winter, etc. and basic beater vehicle. I shot it with Rustoleum single stage enamel, Tremclad actually which is the Canadian equivalent from the same company. Minus some new panels (fenders and windshield frame) I don't think I have $500 into the body and paint. And when it gets scratched up ... and it will ... I know I can easily repair it. I know it's not for everyone but it works well for me.

I'm right there with you. I paint all my jeep stuff myself. If it was a nicer, newer car, or a show quality restoration project, it'd be different. But it's hard to get worked up over perfect paint when you trail ride as much as I do. Hell, I'm just trying to avoid major body damage, the paint is low priority.

I sort of like my “pin stripes” in amongst all these perfect tricked-out Jeeps I see everywhere that have perfect paint without a single blemish.

I get rough with mine, but I just fix it. I enjoy doing both.
