Color Matching Agate Door Panels

Has anyone tried using SEM plastic paint products on their Agate door panels? I've used their system on another vehicle with great results, the hardest part was getting a color match so if anyone has done it which color came closest to the Chrysler Agate?

I did see that thread but it was for Slate gray and silver, mine is Agate.

Yeah, inside that thread was another thread, and another, plus a few links.
Not sure if I ever saw a definitive answer.
Also, not sure if '02 Agate is the same as '06 Agate.

We had a member get some dyed recently- it was amazing.

I’ve never heard of two tones of Agate, and SEM Landau black seems to be color if I remember correctly, but please don’t trust me 100 percent. I don’t.

I don't know for sure, but I saw one listed for agate '99 - '02.
Or something like that.

Agate is the the earlier and Dark Slate is later TJs. I have a mix of both in my interior…

SEM Landau Black is true black. It does NOT match Agate or Dark Slate. I know it has been stated on here before that it’s a match, but it in no way is. I have my 2-piece console painted SEM Landau Black for the contrast and to match my seat covers…

Yep my 2002 is agate and the arm agate looked bad,so I went with landau black and though it is darker than the dash I’ll live with it

Still tickled silly with how good these came out. No way I could have gotten as good a result if I went the DIY route. And, yes.. these are the same door panels!!

I've dinged the drivers side a bunch of times... hit it constantly with my watch, drags the pit zip on my rain jacket across the top of the panel, kick the bottom pretty much every time I get in or out (I have the door strap set pretty short so the window frame doesn't hit the franken-mirrors) and so far the dye has withstood everything I have thrown at it. Literally.

I will go this route if I ever find a reasonable set of half doors. Going to have the steering column upper and lower trim done to match.. both are pretty faded as well.

Guessing you might not get the same result dyeing over another color?

ABA Auto Body in Copiague NY.

The dye is opaque so I would expect coverage to be pretty good regardless of the base color. Not sure how many coats they did.. I'll ask next week when I pick up some other parts they are refinishing for me.

Just picked up the interior door cards for my half doors. The passenger side was free of any damage but was severely faded. The driver side color was really good but has a small crack at the front and rear where the trim plugs go. I could have the cracks repaired but decided to leave them alone.

Picked the cards up from the shop that did the full door cards a few years ago and they came out fantastic. I'll post pics over the next few days.

We just got 2 cans from them that didn't work, they were helpful and actually sprayed the 2 cans they were gonna use to replace ours, what do you know they had a massive batch from colorbond that wasn't working. Just my experience. Genos is a good company not their fualt.

Very obvious difference to SEM Landau Black & Agate or Slate Grey. This is my 03 TJs repainted Slate Gray inner panels to my 2nd gen Camaros SEM Landau Black redone center console. Agate is closer to slate grey then black

Now keep in mind lighting is everything to a shade. The next pics will show a darker version of the same exact inner door panels repainted
