What has been your favorite understated modification?

jjvw, I was looking at the spray nozzles in your build thread the other day, thats something I want to do. Ive had those before on a Silverado and I absolutely loved them. . One thing I have really enjoyed since installing is the 90s mustang dead pedal (also copied from jjvw, and others). I use it way more than I ever anticipated.

Next would probably be the dome over ride switch. I copied the design from the one on q-tec that costs $30. I had all the parts, including the two-throw switch. Took me maybe 30 min to make. Easier than pulling a fuse behind the glovebox. No one has ever commented on it. I also like to use it when I park in what I think are shady areas, thinking that maybe when they open the door and have no light they'll leave it be, or at least make theft minimal...but I doubt it does that:watchout:

Digging the dead pedal idea. Was there a thread on this somewhere?

genius!

Extra spray nozzles have been very nice for highway driving, especially in the wind.

I removed the ash tray and added another stock switch panel that matched the one next to it. So now I have left and right switch panels,
I also added an inside winch switch under the switch panel with push button in and outs.

1.25 " seat risers.
And the next mod will be Currie AntiRock so I can lower/strengthen my winch mount.
But first mod for me on almost every vehicle.... throwing out the rearview mirror.

My kid swung the door open so that the door strap snapped. Replaced with a parracord strap and it's infinitely stronger. Door can swing open at will now.

on this note,
my passenger door loop ripped out, I never have a passenger, the door gets opened once a week.....
the drivers door which gets flung open several times a day is like new...
go figure.

I figure my wife is learning to wrench and switched straps just to fuuuck with me.

Why no rearview mirror? Just curious.
I've driven semis for a million plus miles, they don't have one.
But the mirrors today with temp and compass and.... create a massive blind spot.

My first aversion to the rearview mirror tho was with the Chevy square body pickup.
At night, the road surface would reflect off the rear window into the rear view mirror and every crack repaired with tar would catch yer eye expecting a vehicle behind you. That was back in the 1970s.....
ever since I've hated the rear view mirror.

Turning my rearview mirror upside down is my favorite. Then my Misch Big Boy seat brackets. Gives you 4 inches of additional leg room. I couldn't live without them.

I made a couple of action cam mounts for my LJ dashboard … basically angle iron and RAM mounts. They're handy to have in the Jeep and are also close at hand if you want to take them with you. They also mount on my kayaks and bikes. I think I've shown the mount in the middle here before. I made it for my GPS.
