What did you do to your TJ today?

Aw, excuses excuses. It won't be done if you don't start wrenching... you can do it slow, one bolt at a time.
You will be done before you even know it.

I got carried away and changed this as well he-he

Installed a new track bar. Nothing to exciting but hey wrenching is wrenching! Remember when you were a kid and you knew it was time to go home for dinner but you just had to keep building that tree fort or continue doing what you were doing? That is how I feel when I am working on my TJ. It is just a blast!

How often/what mileage should this be done?

I have read every 60K, I'm the second owner of my TJ and was having problems shifting from 1st to 2nd it was like it wouldn't wind out all the first gear before switching into second, bassicaly i had no fisrt gear.so I wanted to start the cheapest route first and change the transmission fluid and transmission filter and see if that helped, and it did, thank God. shifts properly now. I believe it was the transmission filter because when I replaced it,it appeared to be stock and it was clogged / hard and filthy. by the way my TJ is an automatic and currently has 179K

Tough call, but I like the Chrome grill....it sets you apart from the others out there....I'm not a fan of too much chrome of my TJ apart from my grill.

Kinda how I feel to Kiwi. I do think if I can match the graphite on my Moab’s the front grill would look sweet in that color. Kinda like the TJ equivalent of the JK Freedom Editions grills.

You should also take a piece of Steel Wool, pull it apart a little, then wedge it into the top of the cowl drain. That way water can freely pass through but never get clogged by debris. Any debris will always be contained in the cowl and you will never have the water on the floorboards issue ever again. ;)
Maybe something other than steel wool, though. That stuff would rust, I'd think. But some kind of "filter", yes. Good idea!

I have a piece of a brillo pad in mine, stretched out a bit to occupy the area, been in there for 2 years now and it looks the same as the day I put it there. But yeah I guess it would depend on the specific one used, some might rust and some may not. Think they even make plastic ones...

Cool! And if you ever need to do dishes while camping, you're covered! :D (Sorry, brother. Just messin' with ya!)

What tranny? I’m having similar issues and think I should follow your lead. How hard was it to drain, change filter, and refill?
