Can not get only front or rear to lock solo. Both lockers will lock together. Press once and the rear flashes. Press again and the front flashes and both lock.

You can only lock the front separately if you mod the wiring and add your own switches (for a stock Rubi).

If rear locks with the front, then it should lock solo. Maybe just not waiting long enough.
As mentioned, you won't be able to lock front solo with factory wiring.

Thanks. I'll give it another try and wait longer for the rear to lock.

Bear in mind that you can wait all day long for a locker to engage if there is insufficient differnetial action between the wheels. If you can't clearly get the rear to lock seperate from the front, then you need to get the rear end on jack stands and try to get it to lock by spinning the wheels by hand.

Went back and tried again. Hit lock once and first the rear flashed a few times and then the front started flashing. Pressed the switch again and both locked. Essentially pressing the switch twice results in both locking.

Find and trace the air hoses. Are the pumps in the stock location on the back of the center skid?

On mine, there was a time as a trail fix where I ran both lockers off of the front pump. The arrangement would behave the way you are describing.

Thanks. Went back and checked the hoses. Have a 1/2 inch hose running from the rear diff area with a t conection that feeds to one pump and continues to the next pump. 2 1/4 inch hoses run from the pumps one to the rear and one to the front. Turned off the engine so I could the hear the pumps and sitting in the cab could hear one connect on the first press of the switch and the other on the second press.

Thanks, I got the rear up but still did not lock. It responded no differently than the tires on the ground. Once i press the switch the front also starts. Seems to me the switch or wiring is faulty.

Don't confuse the vent/breather hoses coming from the pumps with the supply lines also coming from the pumps.

Is it correct that one pump supplies the front and and the other pump supplies the rear?

I believe one pump is supplying the rear and the other the front. looks like to small lines come from the pumps to the front and rear diffs and one large line comes into both pumps from a t coupling with 1/2 inch hose. The large line comes from the rear diff. As you can tell I know nothing about this but am hoping for a simple fix.

Strange as strange can be. Puled the fuses for the front and rear. Pulling the front had no effect. Pulling the rear allowed the rear to lock but not the front. This jeep has and after market radio and had a gps above the dash that had a Chrysler model designation but I suspect it was installed after the purchase because the original dash tray was center drilled to accept a wire for the unit. Seems the wiring must be the issue.

Sounds like maybe either wiring to the pumps is switched from what it should be or hoses from the pumps have been switched.

Easy thing to try: switch the hoses.

BTW, the hose coming from the rear that goes to both pumps is the supply line for air intake to the pumps. It should be going up into the corner corner of the tub, not the differential.

Step one might be to start at the pumps. Remove the hoses and get a very clear grasp on what the switch is doing to the pumps. Put a finger over the output side while the pump is running and the pump should shut off.

Thanks will give it all a try and check exactly where the large hose is coming from.

I switched hoses after checking large hose went to the tub. The lockers are now working perfectly. The rear locks solo and both rear and front lock together. Thank you. You time and help are greatly appreciated.

Be in 4lo. Push the switch once. Only once. The rear locker should flash. You may have to go slowly left and right back and forth until it locks and gives you a solid light. If you are too quick and hit the button again then you energize the front locker. And yes, then they will both flash until they lock up. If you only want the rear to engage then hit the switch only once. The next time you hit the switch, be it 10 seconds or 10 hours, you will be enabling the front locker. If I have missed what you were saying please disregard.

Thanks for your reply. The problem was reversed hoses and has been fixed. The system is now working perfectly.
