What did you do to your TJ today?

Today I finally got my Jeep back on the road after spending the last month trying to get company's to send me the correct parts. Long story short - 3.5" MC lift, Rancho RS5000X's, JB Conversions SSSYE, Rokmen TT, 1" MML + BL, Tom Wood's drive shafts..

No Bad Vibes

It got dark by the time I finished joyriding the long way on every errand I needed to do so here's a poser garage pic.
Now I just need to get out there so I can get something to enter in this damn ride of the month contest!!

Finally finished plumbing my onboard air. Had a lot of advice, and pictures of suggestions. I think it turned out pretty awesome. My Jeep had had a couple of issues so it sat for a while, and my tires were all about 21. I pumped them up in seconds each.

Thanks to @lowranger, @tomtaylz, @Alex01, for all of the advice and suggestions.

Now you guys wont have a wait an hour for me to pump my tires back up.

Will also inflate pool toys in seconds.

Edit: just make sure you have a mountain somewhere in your ROTM submission👍🏾

Wired in my Gentex rear view mirror yesterday.. used that blue bare 'switched-power' wire behind the glovebox for power when I tested it but for some reason blew a fuse doing something.. 20a small blade fuse. Those mirrors can't be drawing all that much can they?

Also removed my front cowl and cleaned out the crud from the drain baffle, cleaned up the cowl and brushed some areas with epoxy primer. Hoping that fixed my floor leak which I still have after replacing my door seals.

Thank you. That means a lot. I've put a ton of time and money into it undoing and redoing, adjusting and readjusting everything the PO did except the coil springs (they are next). I wasn't going to do a build thread because I thought it was how I would build it when I bought it. After driving it and spending ridiculous amounts of time under it just looking everything over and getting to know it, the PO couldn't have been farther from "what I wanted." I definitely chalk that up to my newness and naivete to Jeeps in the beginning. So, I do plan on doing a build thread and documenting everything rather than cluttering up this thread lol, as it has been my build thread thus far.

I hear you loud and clear. The PO did buy quality parts but clearly did not do a good install. I've thrown a wrench on 90% of his work to find it was loose or incorrectly installed. My friend who is installing the engine said he put a wrench on the nut and the wrench slipped out of his hand and the nut turned... that's how loose it was.
This has been a huge learning experience and there is much more to learn since all we plan on doing is building both Jeeps bigger so we can do more off road. It really is a mental disorder :)

Where did you find the blue cap for it? Mine is currently just sitting on the bumper and I know its going to get jam packed with road debris after a while.

spread out over a couple days waiting for parts but this is what I got wrapped up today, oil change & lube - when I went to get my oil cap off the fucker wouldn't move, had to pull it off with channel locks & I spun the top right out so I ordered a new one

and the most fun part, my son & his girlfriend moved back to West Chester about 5 minutes from me & had a bunch of buddies lined up to help him so he tapped me to cater the event :D, I'm always happier than a pig in shit to cook for a crowd so he told me what he wanted & I put it together. Started Wednesday night making a batch of cold rise pizza dough, then Friday night I fired up the Kettle to hot smoke some chicken thighs & sweet Italian sausage. Went with Pecan wood for flavor & Dizzy Pig Spicy Dust for the chicken rub.

Here, letting the nasty smoke burn off

patiently waiting on the thin blue

about an hour after that it was all over, here's some shots of the smoked meat

it was all mixed together & sauced with my own bbq sauce, a mixture of Stubbs Original, apple cider vinegar & some rub, we served this on hamburger buns, they gobbled it up like they were going to the chair

Saturday morning the pizza making commenced, a fresh pineapple for the boy's girlfriend's bacon Hawaiian

this was the star of the show, a bacon hot-wing with blue cheese, used some of the smoked chicken on this with wing sauce as the base, some bacon & crumbled blue cheese in addition to the mozzarella, was freaky good

all served around 2pm yesterday to great reviews, boy is all moved in, TJ is back on the road, & I'm about to sit down on the couch for the first time since last weekend

This is the most epic post I've ever seen. Can I move in?

Got the UFC skid all painted up and installed. Also cleaned up the middle portion of the frame with the flap disk and made it pretty:

I adjusted the cat hanger to move the muffler and tailpipe off the head shields. The test drive was great and I feel that the TJ rides even smoother than before. I’m pumped.

It was 65 on Saturday, so I got under the Jeep with the power washer and cleaned out rocks and dirt I found hiding up inside when I was greasing and lubing everything last week. I dumped a small pile of sand and rock out of the gas tank skid holes before they started running dirty water, then flushed it until the water ran clear.

I sprayed into all the frame holes and the top of the transfer case shovel. I had to sweep the driveway later on.

It snowed a little overnight so I got to play in 2wd and 4wd to test the stop, start, and a little skidding in the neighborhood before putting it in 4Hi and going into work. If we get more snow over a weekend I'll go out in an open area and push it around to get a feel for the limits.
