Where to get a new or rebuilt PCM?

My father-in-law has an 05 automatic and it was shifting crazy and staying stuck in 2nd gear, CEL, the works. After lots of reading on this forum I got him an ECU from wranglerfix.com and we just installed it and WOW! It is shifting great! Definitely recommend contacting Mark at wranglerfix.com

For the win!! Nice.

I spent months earlier this year trying to troubleshoot and fix 2005 Wrangler problems - P0700, multiple P16xx, bad shifting, limp mode out of the blue, etc. Wasted money trying to get help at a tranny shop. Based on forums, finally concluded it was a flaky PCM. Jeep said the part was no longer available. I couldn't identify a vendor I could trust to sell and back a product; thought about rolling the dice but just couldn't do it. Left the Jeep in the garage for months.

When I revisited my problem last month, I learned of wranglerfix.com from Ozzstar on YouTube and decided to call Mark at Wranglerfix, who explained how they tackled the problem without relying on used, salvage Jeep PCMs. I found several other positive experiences with wranglerfix.com and not one negative. I ordered the part which took about two weeks to arrive. I was happy to wait as Mark explained that they test the particular unit to be shipped in their Jeep for a few days before shipping.

Took five minutes to install. Jeep fired right up. No concerns after a week. Passed Texas state inspection.

I hope the fix is durable, and I have no reason to believe it's not...time will tell.

I am very thankful that wranglerfix.com took an interest in providing a solution (and at a reasonable $573) to this problem in a niche market.

That is awesome DrRadar, glad my videos helped you out and your TJ problem is fixed! -Ozzstar (Glen)

I’m going to be calling wrangler fix soon I think my FS1 module is giving codes I got a u0168(I don’t have the security key) and a p030 (cats and sensors are fairly new) after seeing my check engine light flashing and going into limp mode, resetting cleared the limp mode but not the check engine lights. Just put my old pcm back in to check if any codes return, if not I’m calling wrangler fix.

I'm thinking my 97 Wrangler needs a new computer. 165k miles
I saw some good and bad reviews of FS1
Nothing but good ones for carcomputerexchange
Kinda torn as to which one to use because I get to keep my old computer if I use FS1.

opinions?

I wouldn't recommend FS1 to anyone. Those guys are absolutely terrible from everything I read lately.

Talk to Mark (@Wranglerfix), he might be able to set you up, and he has a better reputation than anyone else.

I bought mine from FS1 five months ago. It is working well with a couple hundred miles on it. However it was a few days late getting to me which is no big deal, but they never responded to my status check request during the delay. If I have to replace again I'll try @Wranglerfix.

Fs1 also sent me an email yesterday asking to buy my core for $120.

Hi guys, have a quick question. ECU for TJ from 1999, have to be reprogrammed with my VIN or this is required just for newer models ? Thanks

So I know I need a new PCM because of the shifting issue between 1 & 2, but today I had a new error code thrown, P2308 - Ignition Coil "C" Secondary Circuit. Does anyone know if this could possibly also be tracked back to a faulty PCM?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Good morning Soulca,

The current flow, or dwell, through the primary ignition coil is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) by providing a switched ground path through the ignition coil driver to ground. When the ignition coil driver is switched on, current rapidly builds up to a maximum value, determined by the coil inductance and resistance. When the current is switched off, the magnetic field collapses which induces a secondary high voltage surge and the spark plug is fired. This high voltage surge creates a flyback voltage which the PCM uses as a feedback during the ignition diagnostics. The PCM continuously monitors the ignition system for concerns. The P2308 code sets when the PCM detects a short to voltage in the circuit.

How old is your battery??

Good morning Wrangler family,

I need your help (today?!?) in designing a Wranglerfix logo to be used on pcms, stickers and other marketing materials.

After thinking about it, who better to come up with a logo for my products than a fellow Jeeper? Think about it and send me your ideas! (Dinner on Wranglerfix!) 🥩

The website is currently being updated to encompass from ECMs YJ through JLU’s. All years, all Wranglers!

We have (almost) secured a 2004 automatic to use a a template for those of you with 2003-2004 tcm issues.
If things go according to plan, we will be able to mass produce the tcms. ✅

I want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support and testimonials. This proves my theory that word-of-mouth advertising will beat pop-up ads all day, every day.

One by one, sale by sale, you guys have helped my company grow very quickly in a very short period. The standards, quality and customer service will never, ever change. You have my personal assurances.

All the best,

Mark
