Things you dislike on TJs?

I knew getting a TJ would present storage problems. I just didn't want a truck. I had one for 6 years, an F250, it was a disaster. I have to haul small bales of hay, chicken feed, MTBikes, et. Al. So I decided on the TJ and a cargo carrier. It has turned out great. I can hunt and retrieve animals easily on the cargo rack, go camping, transport bikes, get the feed we need. You can also take it to a location and take it off in 2 minutes if you want to go wheelin.

Is that one of the hitch mounted racks?

Yes, that way it is easily accessible. I imagine the ones mounted above the spare have good uses but are smaller, more permanent and less accessible than a hitch mounted. I dropped around $200 on ours. It's a ROLA, powder coated. We use it on our Yukon too when traveling. It holds the massive YETI that feeds the 5 Kids and two storage crates on top too. It's rated to hold 600 pounds. My point is it's multi use, isn't being dragged like a trailer and isn't on top where it creates more drag killing mpg

Neither would I, especially on my TJ! On a Yukon or other 1/2 or more ton frame it's nothing. Even then, I've probably never broached 200lbs with the fully packed YETI and two packed crates.

I have 2 cargo carriers. From memory one is rated for 500 lbs. and one for 200 lbs. The larger one, shown below, is actually for a motorized electric scooter for handicapped people. It has a hinged ramp for loading. I have after market Class III hitches on my TJ & LJ and both are rated for 300 lbs. tongue weight. I have put my snow blower on the larger one for a "neighbourhood trip" and that's pushing it. I would never approach anything close to the rated capacity of the larger one. For general use, camping, etc. they are pretty good though.

LOL. The 6" lift they didn't need to clear the 33's.

Granted the wheels are huge compared to the tires but I think it's just the tube fenders making it look like that. Dude must have insane articulation (; I don't think it looks too weird at all

Ehhh its a little too much lift. Also considering the fact that he probably never will need THAT much of a lift kit for anything.

What I hate most about my TJ is the 42RLE! I had 3:73'so and 33'see and to make that work for me I drove around with the overdrive off. So, I put 4:88'so in and a lunch box locker in the rear, another mistake, the locker has crappy street manners and sounds like the rear-end is going to explode at times. I had it checked by the installer and they said it was fine and don't worry its lhas a lifetime warranty. Well it would have to be removed before I try to sell, it would never sell with it. Putting heavy oil in today since it's warming up.
