My wife is going to be pissed, but I just picked up another E-locker for the LJ, now to get the HP30 straightened and everything installed...with the BBK
Anyone ever considered the thought process behind that? Yeah, our cables suck, electric actuators die, our air actuator sucks, I know, lets make a bolt they can manually apply to shove the shift fork over when the rest of our shit doesn't work. Fuck it, just send them the bolt and stop selling the rest of that crap.Dont ox lockers have a manual fail safe? It's a bolt that's screwed in the cable bung hole.
My e-lockers lock up with about 10 degrees of rotationI'll vote ARB. I dont even know they are there until I flip the switch.
The E locker requires a full turn of the wheel before it locks/unlocks. In an off road/off camber situation that 1' or so could be gamechanger.
Check out post #22 above. Not many Ox fans around here.Ox air actuated. Simple, strong and reliable. All 3 brands are good and all 3 can break. Ox is the only one that offers a simple manual screw in lock to get you off the trail

What good is the manual screw if the Ox is strong and reliable?
I did read all the post. That doesn't change the facts about OX lockers. Just means there are lots of opinions.Check out post #22 above. Not many Ox fans around here.
Sometimes opinions are developed through experience, lots of experience.I did read all the post. That doesn't change the facts about OX lockers. Just means there are lots of opinions.
So you internet people are telling me that ox lockers are less reliable than arb?
Very true. That's why I call or email you to get your opinion or just read your posts. That doesn't always change my opinion based on my experience though. Just sharing what I know to be true for me.Sometimes opinions are developed through experience, lots of experience.
I like the thick strong diff cover. A lot of negative opinions I've read are based on the cable or electric/ cable setups. I run the new air shift version and love it. For me simple and strong with fewer parts to fail is the right choice. Doesn't make anyone else wrong for their choice. Not less reliable. But their diff cover is enormous and the cable system is the wrong use for the application. And even when you retrofit the cable for something else vaguely resembling ARB or Eaton, you are still stuck with the enormous diff cover.
Air lines get cut, electric wires get cut, air compressors stop working etc. Gives you a quick easy trail fix. What good is the manual screw if the Ox is strong and reliable?
Ugh, I think you lost this disagreement...Very true. That's why I call or email you to get your opinion or just read your posts. That doesn't always change my opinion based on my experience though. Just sharing what I know to be true for me.

Happy you've found what works best for youI'll take clearance next to the track bar and the gas tank skid. I'm using all there is to get. The need for a stronger diff cover can be addressed in other ways that don't create interferences from a dumb locker design.
Don't think there's a win or lose when sharing facts and opinions. I am having trouble seeing any value in your comment thoughUgh, I think you lost this disagreement...
