ORO Swayloc Clunk

Anyone else dealing with a clunk in the steering after installing an ORO Swayloc?
Pretty disappointing. Greasing helps get it solid again, but I have to keep greasing this thing about twice a week with minimal driving. Everything is tight. I haven’t been off-road yet.

Currently using a lithium grease, but I’ll try out marine grease next and hope it stays put longer.
I’m wondering if a sticky silicon grease may be a better option.

Yes, I reached out to the vendor earlier in the week who told me to reach out to ORO directly—sent an email yesterday morning and waiting for a response.

ORO can be a little slow in responding sometimes. If you don't receive a reply by Wednesday I'd try calling.

It is worn due to lack of grease most likely.

The Swaylock is new (purchased in early June 2020). All the pinch bolts are tight. Greased up a ton when I installed it initially, and I've been greasing it a 1-2 times a week. It feels great right after greasing. But a few days later, I can feel it getting sloppy through the steering wheel again. It's a constant grease cycle.

I'd hope it didn't wear out this quick with only a couple hundred miles on it...

I cannot comprehend that the designer of the Sway Loc intended greasing 1-2x per week.

Perhaps the best move at this juncture is to disassemble and document with photos, clean up all the parts and inspect for damage, post photos of all the parts here. Additional sets of eyes may spot something you don't see.

If all parts pass inspection, re-install from the beginning following the written instructions, again documenting the process with photos in case the "clunk" persists.

That's a lot of words for suggesting that you might want to do the installation over, which most likely will reveal the source of the issue.

Thanks. I’ll disassemble. I tried marine grease and it was great yesterday. However, 1 day later and the play is back.

I would say from this post that he doesn't have any mileage on them without being greased.
And I can say 100% sure that I only greased mine like twice a year and don't have anywhere near the amount of slop that he has.

I've been interested in the Sway Loc but want to see how this plays out before pulling and selling my Anti-Rock.

I can't comment on the newer Sway-Loc bars as mine is 15 years old and I know they have gone thru some redesign since then. Plus they have the manual loc and other stuff now. But I haven't had any issues with mine other than one broken air cylinder. And none of us could figure out how I broke it either.

Hmmm mine has never made a noise. But this is a good reminder for me to grease it soon.
