so guys after owning the jeep for 1 week i already expierenced heat soak even in 85 degree weather ,todays temps was about 102 where i live and let me say i do alot of stop and go driving in the city not alot of highway driving , i did research and from what i read everyone keeps mentioning that the stock cooling system is perfect for these cars, and no need for a extra fan ...
would adding a auxiliary cooling fan be ok to do FOR HEAT SOAK after i turn off the car with some type of relay for 3 min or so
i have been expierencing alot of (i get off go to the store do what i got to do and get back in the car and very bad idle for a couple of seconds) and in 80+ degree weather now today that it was 102 when i did the same thing this time i got a check engine light immidieatly and misfire cyl 3 and very very bad idle car ran bad for a few minutes intill finally it went away.
plan with this jeep is to obviously take it off roading in SLOW speeds in hot temps for example i wanted to go this weekend and where i wanted to go is about 108 or so now idk if thats a good idea to go since im expierencing heat soak at 102.
i already ordered the heat sheild i ordered the fuel rail heat shield and the injector heat sheilds they get here sunday.
BUT i want to add extra cooling fan when i just feel like the temps are a bit crazy. or when offroading at slow speeds in hight temps etc. and when jumping out the jeep to run to the store i can have a fan atleast helping for a few minutes so when i do jump back on my car it doesnt feel like crap and check engone light etc.
for example i wanted to drive this thing to vegas since i go over there very often, my concern is desert traffic in baker at 117 degree weather,
im assuming an auxiliary cooling fan SHOULD help or am i wrong?
my gfs and my bmws when shutting off the car the fan still stays on for a while to help cool down engine and turbos .
this guy mentiones a fan will be the best bet.
i mean im sure this is not a problem during the winter but as they say each summer from now on is only going to get worse and worse in heat temps☀
