When your ready we can plan a big 3 day weekend and get you something you could tow back home and do all the finishing touches yourself, I am great at the first 80% of the work. It’s the last 20% that takes me forever.
If you you take it from my house you could leave it with @Alex01 for a week and he can wrap it up after work for a week.

It’s great, you don’t even ask @Alex01 to do it. I must be paid in Root Beer, but with Alex you just say “I need to park this here for a couple days” while leaving the parts in a box. It drives Alex crazy and he goes out at all hours of the night and finishes it. @tomtaylz has this mastered this. I believe he is planning to post a “how to” on the forum.
When Tom sold his Unlimited, I was pulling for Alex to buy it. Seemed logical to hold to hold on to his sweat equity.
While it was tempting I was way too deep in my own build to abandon it.

Just like your jeep, the trailer will always be a work in progress with tweaking here and there. Turned out pretty awesome Mike! Can't wait to see it in person. @Alex, you better get a hitch on your jeep so you can borrow that badass trailer!

Honestly I don't know yet. I need to repair the fenders first as one side is rusted bad but I don't want to lose that look by putting newer fenders on.
The bed of the trailer is metal also and is rusted in the corners. When my grandfather wasn't using it for camping he put yard waste in it to take to the dump. So it needs a lot of work. Of course FIRST I need to get my Jeep running and driving so I can tow this trailer.
I'd really like to restore it and then pass it on to my daughter at some point. As I've said before I would be a little worried trying to get out of one of those RTT with my prosthetic since I need to get it on somehow. It isn't like in the movies where you just slip it on.
If I could figure that part out I'd like to do something similar to yours.

Alabama hills is awesome, the Barcroft gate across the valley in the white mountains takes you all the way to 11,500 feet. Cero Gordo ghost town is down the road from there too. Endless funIt’s a bit of a drive but I’ve been wanting to explore the Alabama hills area

Drilled holes in the rack today for the pins to lock it into raised positions.
Not much to show with that, but I did use this nifty tool I bought online for drilling holes straight through tubing and it made a normally challenging task Very easy.

Hard top is back on the Jeep, needed the garage space. I also used the trailer to haul our halloween decorations up to my parents place for storage. So far with a few hundred miles on it I am very happy with how the Jeep tows it. I have raised the rack up and down about 15 times and all seems to be working well. Going to try to get some more finishing touches done this week.
