What did you do to your TJ today?

Installing my D-Rings. 1 down 1 to go.

I installed a Hopkins towed vehicle light kit to work the running lights, brake lights & turn signals when the Jeep is being towed behind our motorhome. I didn’t post any pics because there’s really nothing to see that’s a good thing. It’s a really clean installation.

Put these on this afternoon. No more wobble and noise from the passenger seat every time I hit a bump. Simple but worth every penny. That noise was driving me crazy...couldn't hear the rest of the rattles and noises from the Jeep over the seat rattling around!

Photos make those look like 3D printed parts. Are they? How was the install? Did you have to remove the seat?

I installed some tweeters up high on the dash. The factory front speaker location is just too low to work well. A pair of small tweeters up high adds a lot. I'll probably paint the grills to match eventually.IMG_20210101_150339_01.jpg

welcome, looks good
there are pictures of what it looked like before
It was my Dad's jeep. He bought it new in 97. Drove the hell outta it and then he stretched it out and turned it into a dedicated rock crawler. Put the fuel cell up in the tub etc. He passed away 4 years ago and it sat out in the weather etc., Mom asked me if I wanted it...but, in order to justify the re-tune, had to put a back seat in and make it back into a DD/trail rig. Not easy to do...here's the look when I dropped it off at the fab shop...

WTH guys ?!! Why didn't y'all remind me about the river bottom I live just north of ? Went for a short shakedown run. Drove past the river bottom, saw someone coming out hauling ATC's. I ain't been out there since the 80's in high school. It's all grown up around here now. I assumed wrong we could not get out there anymore. It's just loose rock and sand. Some hills to climb. I am going back tomorrow. Will take my deflators and my air compressor this time.

These guys saw me going up and down, so they gave it a try.

Ha ! So happy. It ain't no rock crawling but I can go have some fun by myself. Get more seat time in my Jeep.

I drained and filled the manual transmission (NSG370) and transfer (231) cases this afternoon. I don't think either had ever been done in my Jeep's 104,000+ miles. I'd not had any troubles shifting, but figured it was time. I also wanted a more little piece of mind knowing all the major fluids have been replaced since last March when I bought this Jeep.

The transmission's magnetic plug was fuzzy as expected; the transfer case had no shavings. Both fluids came out brown, no milkiness. Red Line MTL went into the transmission and the transfer was filled with Castrol ATF+4.

Test drive was good, shifting feels smoother, and the box sounded quieter, if that's possible. Transfer case worked like it's supposed to. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday.
