I'm mostly a podcast listener. Have been for many many years. But I go through long musical phases. I've been (re)exploring proto-punk/early glam stuff for the last year or so.
I hear that cRAP all the fucking time with bumpy bass you can hear 3 blocks away. No thanx. My music is way out of the mainstream for the most part, so I don't "get" a lot of it anyway, but "yaddi yaddi yaddi yaddi yaddi " is even worse than the "yea yea yea" of the Beatles era!I think in our current culture talking "gangster" and sounding like an idiot is thought to be cool. The amount of adults that use "text speak" in professional e-mails drives me fucking nuts.
I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND ONE FUCKING WORD SHE SAID !!!!!
When I was a teenager, one morning my dad told me I missed it last night?Yes, there are some new artists I like (Sturgill Simpson being one of my favs), but most of it is honestly more pop music than it is country music.
I'm not going back for a 2nd listen to try to verify that...I heard big titties somewhere in there.

When I was a teenager, one morning my dad told me I missed it last night?
He said Whalen Jennings was over last night getting drunk with him and his buddies (we lived on lake Martin in AL).
I asked him who Whalen Jennings was, I'd never heard of him? My dad just sighed.
Now Van Halen, I'd have known, but I hated country back then. lol

"Big titties, little waist" (citation needed)My wife sent me this tonight and told me this is what people listen to these days:
I'm honestly at a loss for words. For the life of me, I honestly can't believe people listen to this
The talent these days is the producer, not the “artist”.Most artists are fakes. They have a stage performance and their voices are digitally altered. Millie Vanille wouldn't have lost their jobs for faking it today.
Auto-tune, or in some cases, straight up distortion is what you get. They hire writers and the rest is acting.
Oh come on Chris, how can you not like this? Even my 19 year old is listening to country...oh and probably that stupid video you started this thread with.

my tastes are all over...I have this on my thumb drives in my vehicles (yes, thumb drive). Have an Iphone but despise Itunes so I do not have any music on my phone.
Now we're talking!!!
Watch me whip, watch me nae nae?I'll go against the grain here. I listen to a wide variety of music; country, indie, folk, "todays hits", classic rock, and even have some hip hop if I am in the mood. She at least resembles the old hip hop ways (and I am talking 90s), traditional maybe? Gritty? Dirty? Spitting lyrics out at a fast pace vs other rappers who stick to a 4 word beat over and over.
Spotify is where its at. Premium is high quality. Always playing Spotify when cruising!my tastes are all over...I have this on my thumb drives in my vehicles (yes, thumb drive). Have an Iphone but despise Itunes so I do not have any music on my phone.
