Started to repair the pinion seal. I’m following the 06 FSM. Remove brake calipers, rotor, and the drive shaft, then turned the yoke 3-4x’s, put a 1 1/8” socket on an in/lb torque wrench and measured.
CCW 8 in/lb
CW 3-4in/lb
Tomorrow I’ll remove the pinion nut, yoke, and seal, replace, then put the yoke back on, and torque a new pinion nut to 160 ft/lb, then check with the in/lb torque wrench and increase in 5 ft/lb increments till the torque is +5 in/lb over the previous value.

Yep, Jeep savings.When I saw they were Hutchinson, I had a flashback to several years ago when I first saw them and the price tag of entry.
For me, if it doesn’t give me any more function, I’m not usually very interested. These would do that for sure, but that’s a steep price tag. I can afford them, but not sure I want to spend that on wheels.
I still need Dana 44 4340 Chromoly shafts now that I’m going to 35’s, which I’m planning to schedule for this Friday.
I’m sure you’ve looked at Mamba’s, Quadratec Rubicon Xtreme’s, and Mammoths, all Moab look-a-likes. Then there are Pintlers. I’m not sure what is available beyond that. I like all of them except the Mamba’s are just ok.
the coyote sys is cool. seems popularity has taken the price up a bit, but that goes with everything anymore.
the install doesn't look bad, drill a hole, powder it up, set it all in there and your good. just like everything we do, pay attention to details or risk rework.
so if you look at the cost of a real off road bead lock rim your droppin a minimum of 400ea. and those have no guarantee your not gonna roll off the inner at some point.
appears a conventional alloy and the coyote is likely comparable in cost. and IDK i think the install time might be comparable to a bead lock as well by the time you run around that pattern 5x............... and i got 36 bolts, that takes a minute.

They mention placing the overlapped portion opposite the valve stems to offset weight differences. Claim no issues with balancing.
Way cheaper than beadlocks, and love what they do for performance. Can’t imagine that kind of traction
Having done my share of tube installations over the years, some successful, some not, this isn't a job I'd want to tackle!
The runflat nature is also useful - say if you slash a tire.
thats my biggest issue, nobody around me will touch my wheels and attempt a balance, only 1 place around that'll even mount 35's that are not bought new from them and 2 ghetto tire shops i wouldn't trust could balance these pigs correctly. this ain't no low profile on a 24" spoke rim.
i use balance beads, they are ok most of the time but i have had them not set right on acceleration or get knocked out of position on a good bump, negating their worth.
once that sys is locked inside there is no reason they couldn't balance, having the overlap directly opposite might save you a sticky weight or 2.
That’s one of the main reasons I really am considering these. I’m running a spare delete. If you do the math, no Exogate, no spare tire, no fifth rim, there’s your cost for the Coyote Beadlocks right there.
I had good results at the Discount in Kerrville, TX, but so far it’s been a losing battle at the one in N Spokane, WA. Hit and miss across the US I imagine. I’m taking this set to the local Bison Tire. They have a good reputation for getting it right. $65 for 4 dismount, mount, balance. I’m going to run the Coyote idea past them and see what they say.
Still undecided. Want to, but also want to think this through. I think it's something I could add later on a rainy Saturday. I still need chromo shafts for the Dana 44, so that's on my plate as well.
For $65 to mount and balance tires you wouldn't be saving much if you decide to buy BL or coyotes down the road. Are you popping beads? If not, shafts are probably a better call at the moment IMO.

No, never popped a bead. I purposefully drive so I don't have the wheels turned hard over when the front tires are smashed on a rock or tree.
I'm on board with the Dana 44 shafts.
