I can’t believe you get all that for $500, great deal.
It's great to get a good deal these days. I hope I can figure all this out. I'm kind of excited.
Kind of only because I’m nervous. Don’t want to blow myself up or something. I’m sure I’m blowing it all out of proportion.
How do you like your CO2 system? My boys were reminding me this AM that you had one.
You won't blow yourself up. About the worse that will happen is you'll feel pretty terrible because you have some nice beads, then you'll do another weld and it will look like shit, which make you feel like shit.

On that note, Yes Welder is shipping the order in several separate shipments. A little strange, but whatever floats their boat. Received the steel thickness gauge and .030 solid wire today. I think I’ll start with 110V and practice with 1/8” and less steel while I tap into the 220V in the laundry room for the projects if I get proficient enough.

Just be sure to never clean metal with brake cleaner. Some have removed the chemicals that react when welding, but I just error on the safe side. No one wants to breath hydrogen chloride or phosgene...
More news. My rear DC arrived at Adams yesterday and I talked to Steve today. They’re going to go over it tomorrow and see what the issue is and let me know when they will get it back to me. I’m hoping it comes back soon so I can get out some and be ready for the snow

What should I use to clean the metal before prepping and after to weld? Alcohol? Soap and water?
A flap disc and acetone are the two tools I use. The flap disc is for the "mill scale" while the acetone is good for degreasing.
just do not ever use brake cleaner on metal your about to weld on. some types have a chemical that will ruin your lungs real quick if you flash it and breath it.
Start with 1/8. Thin is harder than thick.

Yes Welder arrived! No pun intended. I still have to get a Jacket or sleeves, some welding magnets, some clamps, some gloves, and of course the gas.
Now that you mention it, I believe it does run flex core. Are you suggesting I could get a roll to use for practice?
You certainly could, I believe I got mine at Home Depot - they have a small selection of welding stuff. I got my magnet set from harbor freight, don't forget a few wire brushes, and if you don't have the welder specific pliers you should pick those up.Now that you mention it, I believe it does run flex core.
