The fender work turned out surprisingly well. I was up in the air about exposing the welds, but I think you made the right choice. You are very lucky that color palette matches so so well. I may have similar luck with mine, I hope.

The tig welds are so nicely done, and I didn't think I could sand them with any consistency to paint over them, so I just masked them off. You're right, the color palette is such a good match. I'm really impressed by the Automotive Paint Supply store I go to. I hope you have even better luck Jim. You have mad skills brah!

You're too kind. I do the best I can and hope to improve each time I take on a similar task. Of course, I enjoy learning these new skills, but they are meager/amateur at best. I suppose I would not be able to afford to have these things professionally painted, so it's worth it to me and I don't think anyone in the general public notices the flaws unless they take a really close look.

p.s. my wife and I just finished the Beckham series. I was a big footballer when I was younger and played division 3 in Kansas and for the club team at Texas Tech. My greatest frustration was finding competition because all the good athletes in America drifted toward American football, basketball, or baseball. I have always felt a little out of place in America, and felt like my true home would be somewhere in Europe. It's probably just my love for the more relaxed European lifestyle and football. One place I have wanted to go badly for many years, just for the football and the pubs and the people is Britain! As much as I told my wife how popular the game of football is, it didn't register with her till she saw Beckham. Like Posh, she still doesn't care for it, but she was impressed with some of the highlights. The irony is about 3 months ago I picked it back up at age 49. I now spend a couple of 35-45 minute training sessions each week regaining my skill set. Cheers!

Yes, but if you were somewhere in Europe just think how hard all the Jeep parts would be to source Seriously though you should try to make a trip at least once, I am sure it would be a great experience. I have certainly enjoyed my trips to the US over the years.

As it happens I am not a huge football fan, like almost everyone my age here I grew up with a favourite team, but I was never a true, dedicated fan. The only sport I tend to watch these days in a bit of cricket and motor racing. A bit like with football, in motor racing the US has gone its own way, F1 is the top of the tree in most of the world but has always struggled to break through in the US. Maybe it is because the US is latge enough, with a big enough population to sustain its own sports at a high level in a way most other countries didn't.

Whatever you like you like. No issue here. What’s so interesting is the question of why football (aka soccer ️), never caught on here. Obviously, the majority of the world thinks it is the greatest sport in the world, and highest pay goes to soccer players in athletics.

My personal hypothesis is that Americans thought that football was what they were doing with the oblong shaped pig skin. Oops.

I gave up on American football when paul allen forced the citizens of WA to build him a new stadium to keep the seahawks here. I do catch Premier League on the weekends when they show it. It's a fascinating sport.

One day maybe you can see them up close and then re-evaluate your opinion of the trail doors!

Genright makes these Half Door Bags. They are pretty cool, but I'm not in need of anymore storage right now, and it's just more crap to carry. I'd rather stay light. BUT, they would fill out the panel! There's actually a couple of somebody's on the forum who could make these. Now that's something special.

I found this gasket from an old XJ laying around. I decided to attach it to the door edge. It’s working pretty good. I think I’ll keep it. Seals it up way better, but not perfect. It provides some resistance when you shut the door. I went for a drive, and I’m really liking these doors.

Pretty close to the Bestop soft doors I had, sealing wise. Every chance you have to diminish rattling is a good thing.

When I was over there on Denver Creek, Rollercoaster was closed for hunting season. Not being a hunter I ask,is hunting season over?

From what I was hearing it’s closed for hunting season but it sounds like it opens again after hunting season?
