Having had 727’s and 999’s in 3 Jeeps and several high horsepower installations, a cooler will not fix a dumbass installation, but good way to smoke transmission with a torque converter not being used correctly. Go out and sit in your driveway, put in drive, hold the brakes and floor the gas pedal And see how long it takes for the smoke to come out?
So are you advocating NOT to install an automatic transmission with the low geared transfer cases? I'm not sure how you see this as a problem. Having had a 4:1 TeraLow kit in my TJ with the 4 popper and then the 3 speed STaK's with an automatic I can say I like the auto better for off-road driving. And I'm really not sure what heat issues you're talking about?
How many of these were TJs with TJ transmissions?
And auto is an auto in how it works to the best of my knowledge there isn't anything ground breaking about any TJ auto. The 999 was used in the YJ.
