5.13 gears in a Ford 8.8

Considering having 5.13 gears and an Eaton TT put in my Ford 8.8.

Was reading that the cross pin or even the gear ring may need to be modified. Is this a bad idea?

Currently running 4.10s with 33s and a 42RLE. Its passable with OD off but not great.

People shave down one of the ring gear teeth on the 8.8 all the time. Its ok
