I visually inspected the 30A fuses, nothing more. In theory they should be fine because the output wasn't shorted, the input voltage was messed. I wire the battery to ground and vice-versa. I can't believe I was that dumb when I was so careful about everything else. The amp was purchased new way back in 2014 but never installed until now, so no warranty either, even though it was my fault. We'll see if I can send it in and if it isn't totally pooched.

That blows (no pun intended)...maybe you can find a used one on Ebay, make a low offer and see what happens.

Crutchfield gave me a local repair center that does all the Alpine warranty service in my relative area. I am going to take it to them and see what they say. My guess is these amps have a Switching PSU, so chances are it is just a fried semi in the PSU that needs replacing, if it still exists.

The Skars are rated 4 ohm and 80 watt RMS. The Hifonics amp pushes out 40 watts at 4 ohm, Soundsteam is 60 watts and Cerwin is 80 Watts, both at 4 ohm RMS.
That Kicker sub is a great choice, but a Kicker 1 ohm wired in series will pull 2 ohms, Hifonics is rated at 200 watts and the others at 350 watts. The Kicker wants between 150 watts and 300 watts, and it does play nice bass for its size.
That Hifonics amp may be pushed too it's limits and distort the sound. I would opt for the Soundsteam or Cerwin over the Hifonics.
The skar are actually rated at 40 rms per speaker and i have a SMD DD-1 to set the gains properly on the amplifier i was looking at the soundstream amp as well also this dual 5 channel as well DMA5600 http://www.dualav.com/marineaudio/amplifiers.php

Good call, it says per pair which I overlooked. I'd still go with Soundsteam or Cerwin since the prices are relatively the same. Better name brand, and with car audio, those off brand names generally produce fake numbers.
Hifonics is a solid name, but I would be wary to use that amp with those speakers. I would want more juice. I currently have a Soundstream marine amplifer and it is doing a great job. I previously had a Soundigital and that thing blew, was poorly made, so that was the issue.
I honestly do not know much about that brand. I can tell you a couple guys have the Cerwin and could comment on it.
@isaac2098 and @Apparition - how do you guys like the Cerwin amp, if you guys competed the installs?
In my center console I installed an 8" Ground Zero mid woofer, and I also have a removable box in the cargo area that holds two 10" woofers.
The Kicker 6.75" is a great sub, good price, fits and pounds for it size. I would recommend that one all day long to an owner of a TJ that wants a simple and good sub upgrade. That with your four Skars will be a solid set-up.
If you are thinking of another direction ask away.
