Some say it's the freedom filled, uncensored by the left/main stream media, 'murica version of twitter. Others say it's the far right, Q-anon infested, kookoo for cocopuffs version of twitter for people who think Fox news is now too far left to trust because they didn't support Trump's assertion the election was stolen from him.
I'm guessing a lot of the "theories" you see posted in the election and coronavirus threads come from there.
It’s what Twitter was before Twitter became the self-appointed arbiter of what’s right and wrong, fact and fiction, permissible to be disseminated or not…
As has been pointed out ad nauseum here & elsewhere, Twitter may do what they please as a private company vis-à-vis ‘censorship’ & I have no problem with that, that’s the law. If I had my druthers however, we’d live in a world where even private companies took a hand’s off position with respect to these issues & ‘permitted’ their readers to make those decisions themselves. When they don’t, which Twitter has not, they give rise to Parlers & whatever else will come down the pike as they’ve forfeited their own credibility in the eyes of a great many people. It’s irrelevant whether they’re ‘right’ about some of the tweets (or people) they ban as false or fraudulent, it’s about the perception, and the reality, that they’re invariably throwing some parts of the baby out with the bathwater that erodes their position as a medium for all people, not just those that agree with a certain perspective. But hey, that’s their prerogative & they will likely cede some level of market share to others as a result.
Did you guys see Amazon AWS has told Parler they will stop hosting their platform and if they can't find another hoster by the end of the week, then *poof* it's gone?
I doubt it much matters, if it goes another will pop up, maybe 'Donner', or 'Trumper'... does it matter? There is a, how do you say it, Yuge market for the voices on the right & someone will capitalize on it
It was a commentary on Trump getting booted from FB and Twitter and a joke about old people not understand how to use the interwebz all rolled up in to one. Mostly the latter. That's why he's asking a kid. Reminds me of my kid showing my grandma (not his grandma) how to use the smartphone we got her for Christmas a while back.
I honestly hope he does. Let everybody that identifies with his brand of politics hang out in one corner of the internet so the rest of us can clearly identify who they are and what is currently being preached. No questions about who's leading the movement or what they stand for. I think when many people are exposed to the unfiltered thoughts and ideas of the man himself, they will more clearly see him for what he is.

It's that what the democrats have said they want? Figure out who all US President Trump supports were so they can "FIX" us?
Not going to debate if he was right or wrong and who was responsible for the protests on Wednesday.
Let's hope none of this ever comes to happen.
