I prefer when I'm in the mountains to NOT have cell service... Now granted I do have Starlink but that was more so I could have streaming service if wanted...
While I'm no where near as fanatical as Zorba (could be the dress) I do agree that cell phones are too much at times..

That said, I noted at least some nurses exiting during the vax either on principle or firing. In droves? Dunno.
In years prior there was a notable exodus with claims of insufficient renumeration.

I work for a large consulting firm that is the second largest designer of Hospitals worldwide. I've been working with a lot of hospitals we design on "start up" both in the US and Canada. The lack of staff is real and verifiable. It's not in the media narratives much however.
We have higher pay and better conditions in the US and we still are seeing fewer and fewer highly skilled RN's and/or physicians/surgeons. In Canada it's much worse. Especially so in eastern Canada. I'm not positive on the reasons but it's not great and getting worse from what I'm being told.
We will not be fully equipping many areas of a couple large facilities in Canada. The projects were both started Pre-COVID with P3 deliveries. Eventually they tax burden will move to the Provincial governments and the people will get to pay for buildings that won't be fully utilized.
In the US we're seeing retirements accelerate for many providers and nurses. It's very difficult for a new facility to staff many areas with qualified personnel. What went down during COVID is very much a part of it too.
Well that's easy to fix. Just lay out the welcome mat for immigrants to do the work that Canadians won't do.
