Anyone ever run into this issue when installing their RockJock Antirock?

How much material did your 1/2" drill bit remove? Were you just basically clearing the holes out or were they originally a different size entirely? I could maybe see a small small difference, but would be surprised by a large one.

It didn't remove tons of material, but it removed enough to have me thinking there is no way those holes were ever 1/2" to begin with.

What do the old end link bolts measure? 12mm?

I thought the stock size was a 12mm, not a 1/2" (can't really remember, been years since I messed with it). Maybe some holes are slightly bigger on some TJ's. Judging by other tolerances seen around the TJ, I wouldn't be surprised.

Here's the factory bolt next to the heim joint:

The factory bolt measures almost exactly 12mm on my digital micrometer.

The heim is closer to 13mm.

But, if the factory used a half inch bolt and rockjock used a half inch bolt, why was a drill necessary? A half inch is a half inch.

The factory bolt isn't 1/2", it is 12mm. It is very likely that the edges of the hole got squeezed in slightly enough that the 1/2" stud wouldn't fit through easily.

The previous owner probably replaced the axle. Maybe something out of a suzuki samari.
