It's my understanding that BedTred is a replaceable mat for trucks. Made by Bedrug. They don't make it for Jeeps. And it's not spray on. I don't know of any spray on that comes out.

I'm not seeing it on their website. Or on another retailer. Seems to be pretty limited. Gotta link? It's not spray on though right? It's hard liner that can be removed.

$443. Looks like interesting stuff. It appears to go on with velcro or similar. Could come out for washing. But looking at the install vid. Not very easily. I think it's more something you just keep in. I'd be concerned about water developing under it. But it looks like rugged stuff. A good alternative.

I've had it in my wishlist for a while now. I currently have no carpet in my jeep and the floor gets pretty damn hot on long trips. I think that plus a layer of sound deadener and foam would make for a big improvement.
I'm not worried about water getting under it, I don't really get water in my tub now and it doesn't even have the plugs in the floor.

I'd think you would need it in the rear but probably not the front. With the seat out and top off it gets ridiculously windy in there.
Hey guys, fwiw, after tons of research, I decided to spray my TJ tub with the Lizard Skin products. I have never done anything like that before, EVER. Several things that I like about the Lizard Skin. 1. it's a water based product, so you don't get the potential cancer components, used in other spray on products. 2. because it's water based, REALLY EASY to clean up. 3. With there sprayer I literally finished in several hours, (4 coats) , 2 coats each, of the heat resistant and sound deadening. . it actually took me more time to tape everything off, then it did to spray it on. I must say I really like the stuff myself. I put a coat of Duratech over it. Then I ordered new carpet from ACC with thicker padding as a back up. No complaints here !!

True! But I never remove my rear seat, I cant even get the darn thing to flip up half the time anyway.

I went without carpet for a year and it was pretty damn loud. I ended up going with BedRug (plus extra Velcro to get it to fit better) and it is much quieter. I looked into the ACC stuff, but in order to get real carpet with a backing to it, it was going to be significantly more than the BedRug. For $300 you just get molded pile carpet, nothing fancy.
Not trying to hijack the thread but would undercoating quiet things? Just curious. I know that when I removed my rear seat and rear carpet for my half cab install it was a very noisy 6 hour drive. I had thought about having the entire tub coated along with the bed but as good as shape as my tub was I decided I didn’t need to. I’ve left my carpet in but don’t plan on off-roading any time soon. I did add a pair of floor mats from my explorer that were a color match.

I've got the BedTred coming this weekend. I'll let you know what I think of it. I get free returns so if it's not what I hope it is then it's back to the UPS guys.

Installed Bed Rug months ago and I think its great. I just installed the front in my LJ. I dont think I will install the cargo area. I am thinking a rubber mat of some sort cut to fit the floor and under the seat.
I removed the carpet in every Jeep I’ve ever owned. They’re more trouble then it’s worth when running in mud and wet weather. Traps moisture and the dirt that gets trapped down in the fibers makes your Jeep smell like mud. LineX the inside, throw in some rubber mats.
If you primarily run on pavement as a daily driver or occasional trips to the beach and light off roading in dry conditions then it makes sense to leave the carpets in. Your Jeep doesn’t have carpets so if you like the minimalist look don’t bother replacing them. Your not really gaining much.

Just found this thread and wanted to see what you think of the Lizard Skin now 1 year later. I'm wanting to lessen the sound and heat in my TJ and I am trying to decide between Lizard Skin and BedRug. My main concern with BedRug is that I get a ton of dust and sand as I offroad mainly in the desert. Thanks!
