CB Antenna in the radio antenna slot

I may be barking up a tree I don't want to, but I'm trying to mount a CB antenna in the factory radio antenna mount. Is this possible or has it been attempted? I want to run a dual purpose antenna. FM is used very rarely, just want to retain the fallback and keep a clean look. If it's not possible I'll just go with a tail light or spare tire mount.

Just go with a standard CB antenna mounted in the rear. Dual-purpose antennas made to work with CBs and the standard car radio are compromises at best and poor performers in marginal conditions.

Thanks Jerry, I know it's a risk/reward. All my CB traffic is very short range and I only use FM for weather. Was just looking for a clean look and willing to possibly make the quality sacrifice to try it out. I'll keep after my original plan of a dash mount and rear antenna mount.

My only recommendation for folks deciding where they put their CB antenna is to consider your terrain. Anything outside the tub (laterally) is pretty easy to catch and possibly break, since CB antennas are typically rigid unless you add a spring. Of course, the spring causes other interference (such as on the highway slapping either the A or C pillar).

My oem FM antenna already slaps my A pillar enough that I know anything else would snap.
