My personal choice is Currie whose Johnny Joint is the best joint period. Or Savvy who uses the Johnny Joint
My Savvys are aluminum with plenty of rock rash. I don't see them going anywhere anytime soon.
Really you could narrow it down to 3 choices, JJ's, MC's, or Synergy/Rancho D2 bushings. The tubing that ties them together doesn't change much. Double adjustable is a nice feature.
Which gets us into the discussion of why one of those things is not like the other two.
What discussion? There are 3 solid choices. Each has their advantages and disadvantages.
If I were buying today I would still be where I was 6 months ago, stick with a good flex joint. I'm pretty convinced of the JJ on both ends.
So for me:
* Savvy - what I bought since they are all double adjustable
* Currie
* Core4x4 (mid-higher tiers)
* Rokmen
If others exist, I can't recall them off the top of my head.

Perhaps I used the wrong word, but I don't know the right one for the bushing + housing + any other components involved. Is it just "joint"?
I guess maybe it's the joint + channel since they work together? e.g. an OEM CA + bushing is better than a boxed in OEM CA + oem bushing
I was a doubter on the value of the double adjustable until I installed one. I could imagine it being an all damn day ordeal trying to get single adjustable to fit just right.
Since I’m “value oriented” I think the optimal choice on a $200/pr budget is to get something good used vs something mediocre new.

I'm not at all convinced that MC can withstand hard use. I've also noticed that they allow a lot amount of axle wrap due to their softness. Johnny Joints don't do this. At the same time, I've noticed while cycling axles with MC bushings that they are difficult to move around compared to similar setups with Johnny Joints.
While I don't think Metalcloak is going to stop someone from getting through a trail, I see no compelling argument to put them on the same level as Currie/RockJock.
This! Shop that installed mine talked me out of double adjustable, probably to keep me coming back for adjustments. Shop did a horrid job installing my lift and getting it dialed in in the the driveway would have been SOOO MUCH easier with double adjustable.
Thanks for the discussion and your opinions. I ended up purchasing the Savvy set and a synergy steering kit. Pretty sure the wife will kill me as I didn’t tell her I was buying two parts

Is it to late to cancel that order? Currie is superior and probably no difference in price.
