Hello everyone I installed the Ultimate steering kit today from Currie. It went pretty smooth but there are somethings that just don’t make sense to me.
One is the aluminum tie rod came bare. I know it isn’t a big deal it’s aluminum and I just painted it with rattle can because I am sure it will get scratched up anyways.
Two is I had two boots that were pointed the wrong direction and needed to be pointed inboard away from the brakes. It even tells you in the instructions to do this. It is annoying at a premium price you pay for this that you have to do rework of the manufacture install. They can’t just quality control that? Again not the end of the world it just seems like laziness.
Third thing is greasing the joints. I followed the directions moved the joints around and tried to grease them but was only able to get a pump in the other ones. I am going to take a lap around the block and try again.
The system all in all is beefy and seems to be well made. This is is just my opinion on the install and first impressions only.
