Daily Driver Brake Recommendations

Look, I understand CreepinDeth. He wants data, which is completely legit.
I also wanted data, but decided to invest time into researching all brake options,
WJ swap with OEM pads,
WJ swap with BMB pads,
OEM system with BMB pads,
all the options before but with EBC yellow pads,
Big Brake Kit from BMB,
Power stop stuff,
But after all this came to conclusion based on other folks online and in real life that:
EBC Yellow stuff is better and more expensive that OEM. This is based on people who actually used it to replace OEM and found it performing better.
BMB is more expensive and better than EVC yellow stuff. This is based on people who actually switched from EBC to BMB.

I found the same results in my research and that’s why I chose BMB over EBC yellow pads.

Fwiw, I don’t demand data be fed to me in a specific flavor.

If the data came from a lab I would review it. The data I found came from others’ real life experience, so I reviewed it.

In the end, I achieved what I was looking for and am appreciative of the shared info that helped me make an informed decision.

I've only been around for a week or so, but I have decided that I'm going to redo my front brakes with BMB pads and Centric rotors. I'm going to stick with the OEM calipers.

Properly (aggressively) bedding the front brakes is the key...not changing pads in the rear.

I've never had BMB pads in the rear since the front brakes do the majority of the braking.

Edit: I read where a member didn't properly bed his BMB pads (like he figured he did) and didn't think that highly of them. He later braked for a while going down a grade and it made his brakes bite super well after that. You have to really get into them in order to receive the benefit.

Same reason I only ran them in the front. I followed the break in directions at the start and have tried it after but they’ve just never wowed me.

I bedded mine twice.

The second round was done in a very aggressive manner. Doing so made a big difference in the performance (much more bitey after that).

If you don't notice a difference between the OEM pads and BMB pads, you don't brake aggressively enough to utilize them.

Yeah that might be. I pay attention while driving and haven’t had any deer jump in the road recently.

That's not the point. The break-in beds the material into the rotor but BMB pads need to be worked hard on a regular basis to maintain effectiveness.

If you're not the one needing to slam on your brakes in traffic, then you're the one causing others to have to. I thank mrblaine every time I drive my Jeep and some idiot on a cell phone cuts/sways in front of me. His brakes have saved my ass from an accident many times.

Seems to be a common theme Im noticing when differences of opinion arise not toeing the line of the echo chamber

He could just be a more even keeled and safer driver leaving enough space, or perhaps a less urban area

Its the people that dont leave enough space that require a brake slam that cause others behind them to get into an accident.
