I cut my stock front bumper down to 46" when I went to 35's. There are plenty of places in the Southwest where I can stick my front tires up against rocks and, while my bumper is a little long to be considered a true stubby, cutting a bit off the ends has allowed me to take lines I might otherwise have had to pass up to avoid damage to the bumper (I'm not too worried about damaging the MC Overline fenders, aside from scraping off some paint every once in a while).

Thanks, it was so easy to do even a no-talent bum like me could make it look good. If you can draw straight lines with a ruler and hold onto an angle grinder you are qualified to do this. If I had any welding skills at all I would have boxed in the ends to give it a more finished look, but the only welding I have ever done involved a battery and a dropped negative cable...

stubby, full width, depends on what you do. Stubbys are great if you need to climb up ledges. Full width works best in the forest. After that the choice is pretty much cosmetic.

That's the same bumper I have. The tapered ends give you the function of getting out of the way for your front tires. I say keep it. I wouldn't change a thing. If I were to go to a true stubby, I'd get this one from Motobilt with the built in winch plate, made in the USA, $249

Here’s a question. Rock sliders. I know you have them, but can you make them with a tube slider in DOM that doubles as a step?

Here is a pic of my front bumper. So I am wondering is there is a benefit to a stubby bumper. I was thinking about cutting this bumper down to make a stubby bumper. Is there are real benefits to a stubby bumper. I'm not really a fan of the long bumpers but if the benefits don't outweigh the current setup i will leave it as is. View attachment 28360

Not to hijack the thread, but I have the same bumper. I was wondering if you know the size of the auxiliary lights. Mine have condensation in them, and it would be nice if I could replace them with a brighter set.
