I was one of the dumbasses that was sick of greasing my Johnny joints every 6 months in the Midwest. My solution was to put metalcloak bushings in the JJ barrel. After a year most of them were so loose in the barrel you could wiggle them around with 2 fingers.

Moved to California, greased my rebuilt jjs once and have been good ever since.

The sad part to me about all these arguments is 98% of people don’t know how well a jeep can ride. If all your experience is off the shelf shocks or accutune offroad…. You don’t know shit.

The crazy thing is that mine rides pretty decent with off the shelf shocks. Better than any other Jeep I’ve been in, anyway. I can’t wait until I have the time, energy, and resources to get some “real” shocks .

Oh and I have Johnny joints, lol.

Lucky, mine seem to need love annually, or at least every 18 months.

Mine need love frequently. I actually need to pull my front joints apart again and check em out. I cut some grease grooves in the poly races this time, hoping they would hold more grease. So far, my rears are squeaking, again, but my fronts are still quiet.

How do you quantify decent if you’ve never driven better? Can you hit a speed bump at 40+ mph with little to no input to the chassis? What about driving over the reflectors on the highway?

Decent in that I enjoy driving it and it drives about like factory. I've driven a lot of jeeps WAY worse than mine. Its tight, it doesn't shake your fillings, 75 mph down the highway is fine. It takes quite a bit to unsettle the chassis, I can make the tires howl around tight turns, etc. If I hit a speed bump at 40, I'd probably launch airborne, but it handles washboard well.

@Chris - I think since we're on a forum reading messages from strangers, and not knowing their personalities, things can be 'read' or taken wrong, so to speak.

That type of thing happens all the time between people texting back and forth about topics they're passionate about.

Dang. I'm just gonna take my Jeep out and set it on fire.

That is true indeed.

I can't tell you how many people have left the forum upon their first interaction with Blaine.

It's hard to through text so the best thing to do is not read into it at all. I know for instance that if I ever come across as being an a-hole, it is not my intention at all.

I love having this conversation with my wife. She'll say, "Why did you sound like that in your text message?". My response is always, "How do you know how I sounded in a text message?"

White rockets do not belong on the good shock list. Quit drinking the koolaid.

Now I don't know if my Jeep is good or bad anymore. @Chris, make that thing a stickey. 😂
