yeah whats one more car to maintain....will be up to 7 cars for 3 licensed drivers and 1 with a permit...the lift is getting a bunch of use!
Yikes... Isn't it cheaper to teach him to look over his shoulder before changing Lanes?yeah we are zeroing in on the crosstrek for my son...unfortunately to get the blind spot monitoring in the side mirrors is pushing msrp over 26K....a little more than I was going to spend on my 19 year old. But figure he will probably get 10 years at least out of it.
Yeah thats what cracks me up, he has none of that in his current highlander and drives fine....the wife is hung on it...might have to work on that. We have been looking at some of the newer subcompact suvs out there and there is very little visibility so you need them. The crosstrac looks to have great visibility so may not need.Yikes... Isn't it cheaper to teach him to look over his shoulder before changing Lanes?
This is another one of my pet peeves with modern cars. They forsake visibility for styling. Some might argue that it's for fuel economy, or perhaps rollover protection, but I suspect that the marketing people have a lot to do with it. It's got to be stylish to sell, and the big hiked-up rear quarters and low rooflines seem to be the "in" thing...We have been looking at some of the newer subcompact suvs out there and there is very little visibility so you need them
100% correct...if you look at almost any modern SUV the windows get smaller going to the rear. Even my 14 explorer, no small vehicle, needs those stupid blind spot mirrors if the rear headrests are up...no visibility. It is another reason I am looking into the crosstrek. This is another one of my pet peeves with modern cars. They forsake visibility for styling. Black and Chrome...classic combo
His " '64 Bronco " was likely a typo. For me it's the old things. If I could have back my '73 FJ-40, '63 FJ-45 P/U, '43 GPW. Or my Dads, '53 Split Window Bug, '63 & '64 VW Double Cabs, both set up for off-road exploring, or his pride & joy, '53 Mercedes Benz 180 Diesel.
Oh and a previous post mentioned early Broncos, they were produced YM, '66 to '76.
If you're interested in the Crosstrek, you should consider the new Hyundai Kona. Great reviews! Bought one for my oldest son.100% correct...if you look at almost any modern SUV the windows get smaller going to the rear. Yep, already looked at it briefly, very nice, better warranty...they are just coming into the dealerships here with the boring colors of black and white and they are sold before they hit the ground. Problem is with the blind spot system the msrp is getting over 24K and they really are not "dealing" on them yet....that why I am looking into the crosstrek as well.If you're interested in the Crosstrek, you should consider the new Hyundai Kona. Yes, I know it's "Apples and Oranges", but it does make a point, does it not?
*Sorry 'bout the "resolution" thing. Didn't realize it would show up.
so she has the limited? She like?I'll take the '86 thank you.
While we are on the CrossTrek thing... my wife has one. 2018 with every option.
Yes, Limited with EyeSight. She loves the eyesight when backing out of the driveway. It actually STOPS the car if a pedestrian in approaching.so she has the limited? She like?
Both my kids at 16, I told them that I will buy them cars as long as it's manual.but she was a little freaked out when I explained a manual transmission..
