Took that back in the early 2000s when I first started doing track days.
One of my daughters plays. If I handed her one of those sticks she would look at me like I was a martian. Its all aluminum and plastic like you say, and thats too bad if you ask me.Some of my traditional lacrosse sticks ... leather & hickory. I started playing in the late '50s, stopped playing competitively in the '70s, recreationally at age 57 and finally retired last year from the administrative side of the game. From left to right - one from the '30s, the one I last played competitively with in the '70s, a never used one from the same era and a new one I bought in the '90s and still use off and on. Players use plastic & mesh sticks now - not very much leather any more.

Here is my leather. Had horses for 30+ years. As of 4 years ago, don't have any anymore. Never could part with my saddle and old Ruger Black Hawk. Did a lot of hunting on horseback and took a lot of wild pigs with that old Ruger. View attachment 23834
