Looking at your profile it appears like you have a well-built rig as well. Hope to see you on the trails one day.

I have been mostly on JeepForum for the last decade or so, I have an '85 CJ7 as well...camped at Ellis Creek Bridge a few weeks back, way more snow then I thought but it was nice to have the trail to ourselves...

Since the exhaust shop didn’t route the exhaust correctly. I decided to remove the OEM upper brackets so that they would not hit the tailpipe. I also cleaned up the shops terrible bracket they made.
However even after doing this I am still not happy with the shops work so will likely order some mandrel bends and redo it in the near future. But at least the exhaust won’t get smashed on the trail in the meantime.

Which Dana 44 is in the rear? The tubes look so small.
No going back now. I have the same bad luck getting a shop to do a good job.

Not terrible but time consuming, we used the plasma to get within about 3/4” then used a cut of wheel. Then attacked it with the grinder for about 3 hours. I didn’t want to risk hitting the axle tube with the plasma so was very conservative. It was tight working around the brake lines etc.
Blaine leaves them on as a default option so as not to destroy the value of the axle in case you decide to upgrade at a later date.Was wondering if you left those on in case you didn’t like the mid arm.
That one in the background is not mine it’s a friends. I sold my old XJ to a friend. Here is a photo of my old XJ from our run last year.

I am done with anyone working on this Jeep but me or Blaine, not worried about going back now, this thing drives to good to change.

Didn’t take it that way at all.
Just answering straight to the point. I do think it looks smaller too, I think it’s because we are not used to seeing it with so few brackets in that area.
