The rear fenders have been primed, and a coat of rust paint applied. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get either the tubes painted, or the skins.

Rears are painted, and I'm really happy with how the color matched turned out. I also got the holes drilled for the JK turn signals.

99% ready to go no now. I have to weld the front plate on the fenders for where they bolt on to the front, but I can't do that until the old fenders are cut, and I can place the new ones.

Knock on wood, they should be on the Jeep tomorrow. :)

Cool! I'm looking forward to seeing how they turn out. In the end, you'll have some nice looking fenders, and I suspect you'll have saved a lot of money over purchasing Metalcoak fenders (or similar).

That came out quite nicely, I'm impressed! How much money do you think you put into them?

They also look like they'll be nice cupholders / on-the-go tables!

Awesome!!! who did you buy the materials from if you don't mine me asking? That is a project I have in mind but I do not have tube benders.
This is the kit I bought: http://shop.blackwidowgear.com/Jeep-TJ-YJ-Front-and-Rear-Tube-Fenders-DIY-tjfrfenders.htm I went with the 5" flare, skins, and bolt on flanges.

The kit cost me $368 CAD ($269 USD) to my door. I used 3 cans of primer, 1.5 cans of silver rust paint, 1 can of color matched paint, and one can of grey paint for the tubes. I'm guessing I'm into the paint for around $50. It would probably be half that in the US though.

It would have cost about triple (or more) that to buy a set of 4 from one of the bigger companies that sells them. I was also able to support a small Canadian company by getting the ones I bought too. :)

Last night I was able to put the last fender on, and today I installed the other JK light. I LOVE the new look of my Jeep!! I know not everyone likes tube fenders, but this ended up being just the look I wanted, and I was able to get rid of my rusty front fenders in the process. :)

I bought a nice mesh top for a JK (Rugged Ridge 13579.11 Black Mesh Island Top) a few months ago for super cheap (thanks Amazon!), with plans on making it fit my TJ. I started on it today, and am just about done. This had quite a few straps that had to be cut off, and I had to take a few inches off of each side since the JK is so much wider than a TJ. It ended up being more time consuming than I thought it would be, but I think it'll look and work good once I'm done, and get it on. I just have to finish putting grommets in one side, and buy some ball bungees to strap it to the roll bars.

You'll be happy you bought one of those sunshades.

I don't know how anyone can live without one (unless you're a fan of skin cancer).

Yeah, last year I just took the windows out, and drove with the top up. I missed the convertible feeling doing that though. I think I'll be happy with this.
