"Pacing myself" build

Technical question for you jeepers, Doesn't GL-5 gear oil already have the limited slip additive in it? Do you still need to add the additive for LSD rear ends?

I was under the impression some GL-5 gear oil has the additive, while others don't. I say that because when I look for GL-5 gear oil, some of them are specifically labeled as having a limited slip additive, while others aren't. I'll bet @Jerry Bransford knows for sure.

Took the furry kids glamping last weekend.

Hooked the Jeep up to the coach and headed for the foothills.

What was going to be a snow run, with base camp in Grass Valley, turned bust due to the weather, so we went anyway and made the best of it. Ended up having a nice time and checking out some neat stuff in the area.
Checked out the State Historic Park in Grass Valley.

The 13 acres included the mine and living quarters. The brick work was amazing on the main cottage.

While the owner and mine upper crusty's were living in the lap of luxury, the poor mine workers got a bit different view.

The rest of the property included mine type activities and support in finding that precious metal.

It was a neat history lesson.

It was neat to see how they did things back in the day. Crazy thing, this guy in a TJ that looked a lot like mine kept tailgating me the whole trip! Think he had it out for me!

AC was blowing warm in the Jeep, so off to the AC shop it went. $93 later and AC blows cold again. Got dye in the system now, so hopefully we can find the pesky leak.

That dye stuff works great. I had the same issue for mine, it simply turned out to be a small o-ring seal where one of the main lines connects to the compressor.

Welded up my rear shock relocation brackets today in prep for the SYE. My Nitrocharger shocks are tired.

Gained quite a bit of clearance for pinion angle adjustment, plus added some reinforcement to the lower control arm brackets.

They indexed to the control arm brackets and the axle tube quite nicely. Mostly I like that it beefs up my lower control arm brackets.

I'm going to order some of those then. I've needed a set for quite a while.

You won't be disappointed. Fit and finish was top notch. Now the question remains, should I cut off the old shock mounts, or just leave them there?

If it was me, I'd probably just cut them off.

I hear good things about Clayton, so that's good news!
