Picking up where I left off

HAM/GMRS is what my club and most people in my area wheel with. It's so much better than CB and a handheld is all you need other than a HAM licence which is easy to get and cheap/free.

This is the radio I use
BaoFeng GT-5TP

Yeah, I'd like to get away from CB if I can. I'll have to get a HAM license, and unfortunately like @Alex01 who is able to take his online in California, I have to go to an actual testing site, so I guess I'd better hope I pass the first time, since the testing site is a ways away

I got mine before they locked down the state so I took it in person. Mr and Mrs. @Midnight LJR are practicing now and will be able to take it online. I believe it's through zoom and they just watch you take the test.

Chris, I wouldn't be surprised if you could take the test in "California" via zoom.

This reminds me of when I had a CB years ago. I was driving down the freeway listing to truckers on there CB. One trucker was complaining to another how ruff and bumpy the road was. Another trucker replied by explaining that it was not the roads fault it was the construction company that installed it upside down.

I used to listen to them, I liked it when they tell jokes back and forth.

“How do you know when you have a high sperm count?

She chews when she swallows”

There are usually lots of testing sites that are put on by HAM clubs. I found one at my local airport thru a club's website

I was walking through a TA center heading to my truck when I overheard some yelling from the shower area “ITS MY DICK AND MY SOAP AND I’LL WASH IT HOWEVER FAST I WANT TO”!!!

Ordered the Fox 2.0 Factory smooth body shocks with LSC tonight from Accutune. I noticed they are listed as being on backorder until mid-October. Here's to hoping I can get them in time for Blaine doing the outboard.

I've heard Fox is ridiculously slow

Chris, I bought mine through Poly Performance in San Luis Obispo, they had them in stock and shipped them out that day along with the towers. Now, having said that, it was back in April/May when I ordered them.

Yep, I talked to them before AccuTune and they told me the same story as AccuTune, so its a nationwide thing unfortunately. What a bummer!

Some awesome photos provided to me by the previous owner @ToddK:

Congrats, looks like a great buy.

I noticed in the original listing, it mentioned a set of original wheels. Did you get those, and if so are they for sale?

Awesome pictures dude......
Do you have a date when it'll arrive yet?

Good luck topping those 😆

Looks like even on those shocks it has pretty good articulation.

I look forward to seeing how @mrblaine does the outboard with the rear Antirock like that.

No, I let him keep them as there was no room to transport them.

Any day now. It was supposed to be the 1st but supposedly the guys are booking it to get back to Arizona and they are a two man team with a sleeper cab. So I suspect I may get it really soon.

Heck I made it from Long Island, NY to San Diego, CA in 3 days back when I was driving truck alone..... I was running 3 log books to keep legal and then got to lay over for 4 days on my companies dime.

Wouldn’t the wheels fit in the Jeep?

They left from Maine on Tuesday and were headed straight to Arizona. So I guess it’s just a matter of how long it takes from Maine to Arizona. Sounds like 3-4 days.
