Post photos of your yard projects

No pictures but I'm going to rebuild our deck next spring. It was built by a PO and is not in good shape, lots of rot and the way the ground has shifted it is no longer level

Wow... you guys have some amazing yards. I hope to have a yard like this eventually. I re-did my front yard by myself last year and it turned out great. I am officially "that guy" with the nicest grass on the entire street (all my neighbors are always asking how I keep it looking so good).

However, the backyard is a mess, and I intend to build a deck back there this Summer, put up a new fence, re-route the irrigation system, and put down new grass. First I need to have some dirt dumped back there and rent a Bobcat tractor to smooth it out. It's so uneven in the backyard and filled with all sorts of pot holes and such.

I think the dirt and the Bobcat is the best way to go about that, what do you guys think?
Okay "that guy"...... where is your picture??

Bored at work today...I'd like to see what you've done around your yards. We bought our property in 1981, and have been working on the yard ever since, with about six or seven major renovations over the years. I thought I'd start off with some photos of my last deck project. The three decks around my hot tub (you know where I spend a lot of time) had been there since I built them when I put in the Hot Springs tub, but the one on the left was the last one to get a roof over it...View attachment 63708View attachment 63709View attachment 63710View attachment 63711View attachment 63712View attachment 63713View attachment 63714View attachment 63715View attachment 63716View attachment 63717View attachment 63718View attachment 63719View attachment 63720View attachment 63721
There's a little flat-screen TV in the wooden box on the right hand side of the deck...

The fencing around these has also changed, but that's another story...
Great Job on your hot tub cover! :number_one:

I really really like your ponds! Are they a lot of maintenance? I would like to put one in also and add fish.
In my case, you can see a tub on one end with water hyacinths in it, and there is another tub on the opposite end with a celery-type flowering plant. I have a pump in the middle of the pond that pumps to both of those tubs, and the roots of the plants are my filters, with both spilling back into the main pond. The water stays clear year-round using that method. The only maintenance is to clean a filter wrap around the pump intake basket, which takes about 5 minutes every few months. Every other year or so I muck out the bottom of the pond with a skimmer.

Well that doesn't sound so bad.....

With the new garage being built our entire yard has to be redone. I found this cool vintage fireplace and Dave has a ton of bricks and other stones to build a small patio to put 5he grill and use the fireplace outside .next to the house on the right . That will be a spring summer project seeing the ground is almost froze already here in the frozen tundra .

Chicago Bears wall decor in Green Bay, Wisconsin! @Kathy, I like your style. Go Bears!

This is my pond project lately. Leaking pipe and need to cut out one more section of concrete, fix the leak and put it back together.

Having a swimming pool is a pain in the ass. I broke my foot 5 months ago falling in it. Our pet cat died a couple weeks ago in it. Now this. It’s cursed lol
Maybe I should drain and make it a skate park

yeah a pool was the one thing we did not want when we bought the house...but found the right house and it had it. 2 brick patios later, last summer's one started out as a liner job and morphed into new paver patio, salt system, hot tub, led lights in pool......$40,000++ later

Plant some fish in it and we'll come over and go fishing and drink beer! :-)

Not exactly a yard project, but a neighborhood project. My wife found a wooden crate made out of 1x4 boards, that seemed pretty solid as a foundation, so I put some old fence wood around it, framed a roof for it, covered that with one solid piece of sheet metal, and added a hinged door for the front with plexiglass panels. Then I welded up a stand for it (pictured upside down) from some scrap 4" tubing, that I plan to sink into a 8" x 20" hole with concrete on the corner of our street. I plan to mount the little house on top of the stand when the concrete sets.

This is going to be a neighborhood 'take a book / leave a book' library for our dead-end lane where we live, ala:

Mine was designed and built on the fly, no plans involved. Makes for a longer project...the reason the plexiglass door panels look cloudy is they still have the plastic protective sheets on one side, to help keep them from getting scratched up during 'construction'.

Getting ready for Spring. Gophers been working at the corner of the greenhouse so hauled in a bucket of sand.
