Project Pony Boy

Ordered rock sliders and a locking gas lid today.

Took a pressure washer to it today. I had concerns with mud sticking to the raptor liner, but this is the second wash. The first time I scrubber it with chemical guys wash and wax and followed with a hybrid wax/ceramic coat. This time I just took a pressure washer to the body and undercarriage without any soap and felt no need to go any further. Took a few pictures to show beading and ease of cleaning.

My first few days with it I thought it was going to be insanely stiff with the nitro shocks. Yesterday I was rotating my tires and checked tire pressure and it was at 38 lbs! I guess someone thought they were doing me a favor airing my tires up. I’ve only drove it maybe 5 miles since then but it really seems to be much better. I haven’t driven it enough to really give an honest opinion. The Jeep is a weekend and fun project vehicle and I daily drive a Toyota. As things progress/the springs settle I’ll give a more in depth review. I will say I’m getting little to no driveshaft vibes without the t case drop, so that’s a plus for the moment. I’ll do a sye when I have to get a new driveshaft during the motor swap, but for people avoiding that it’s an awesome plus.

Well the interior got pulled again today. Bedtred for entire Jeep arriving Tuesday. Going to look at some tiburon seats tomorrow morning. Enough noico do do door panels and tailgate arriving tomorrow along with rock sliders by the same company as my front and rear bumpers. Throughout the week a new weighted shift knob, leather shift boot to ease 2nd 4th and reverse issues caused by the body lift, centric rotors, and bmb pads, and an arm pad for the console will be arriving. Very good week for pony

Bedtred in (for those who are thinking about getting this just don’t. It looks good when installed but took me like 8 hours to install because of poor shape and having to trim everything)

Doors now have noico in them (and lots of it.) haven’t gotten to drive with them yet but something as simple as closing the door sounds so much better. I no longer have the Jeep door sound and just sounds solid when shutting.

New shift knob and boot on (kind of) I broke the plastic retainer when taking the old boot off. I’m attempting to superglue it back and if that doesn’t work I’ll order one tomorrow.

Tiburon seat heaters installed on drivers side and brackets mocked up. Have to do some trimming and they’ll be in.

Sliders installed on passenger side but not drivers because I didn’t want as much in my way when I attempted to make the seat bracket.

So I woke up this morning and found a present from the fiancé. Traveler 9500 lb winch!

Then found 4 Mastercraft m/t tires (295/70r18) (34x12) tires on Facebook for next to nothing. Fitting them in the Jeep wasn’t so easy.

It’s been a good day

I am wanting to step up to a bigger tire. No bigger than an actual 33". How is the performance and street ability now?
I was really worried about that myself. I was already on a 275/65/18 a/t (32/11.50) and was really worried about the 2 extra inches really bogging me down along with being a pretty aggressive 10 ply tire causing road noise and giving a rough ride but I swear that is has caused absolutely no Ill effects. If anything after I removed air after the tire shop grossly overinflated my tires (45 pounds and the guy that put them on owns a tj! I’m actually giving him my factory bumpers because he’s bashed them on a tree) it rides better and has less road noise. Given I’ve only had them for a day and not had it over 60 I’m really impressed with these tires.

Any more thoughts on the bed tred after having it for a while? I'm trying to decide on bed tred or ACC carpet from rock auto. I like the idea of the easy clean up but I've been seeing a lot of bad reviews. I'm also concerned with either flying out of the back with no rear seat/ top and doors off.
