Rear Slip Joint Boot

It seems wrong to me that my rear driveshaft (Tom Woods) doesn't have a boot to cover the slip joint splines; they seem too exposed as-is.

I imagine a boot would help keep out debris and water to a fair degree and preserve the grease, extending slip joint life.

What are your thoughts on this?

the boot could actually hold water and dirt in as well.

best is no boot, hose the dirt off and grease regularly

Neither of my TW drive shafts have boots. We discussed it when I ordered them and the conclusion was that they would be torn off on the rocks, so the boots were not part of the order.

When you order one, you have a choice.
Boot for mud, no boot for rocks.

No boots on mine either. Keep them greased to keep the debris out

Talked to Shawn today at TW drive shafts, he said boot not an option for the rear DS since the Rubicon shaft is so short, he says the internal wiper is used. Like many said, I'll just keep splines clean and greased all the time.
