Removing Glued On Foam / Rubber

I removed the old, broken wind deflectors and this is what is left behind. I have tried rubbing it with WD40, with Mother's Speed Bug and Tar remover and a plastic scraper, but I think I need something more aggressive with these products than rubbing with a rag. Are there any tricks to breaking this stuff down?

I know there is Goo Gone but is it going to be much different from what I have been trying?

I had a terrible goo left from carpet that was glued to the top of an Insta Trunk. The best thing I found was spraying a bunch of Goo Gone on there and leaving it overnight, then using a heat gun and razor to strip it off. Wash, rinse, repeat.

You likely don’t want to use a razor and I don’t know about a heat gun on the paint, so try the goo gone piled on overnight and then something less dangerous/abrasive to paint. A little heat may be fine. You just don’t want to go through the clear coat.

You could try just a little Acidtone on a,small spot. Drys super fast. Will take a lot of stuff off.

Thanks. I didn't know plastic razor blades were a thing. I am a bit afraid to use acetone, but it is good stuff. I may give that a try. Andy

White nylon pads are effective and easy on the paint- acetone is not.

I’d probably use simple green or dawn and water pretty strong on a paper towel and wrap it in Saran Wrap for 30 minutes to an hour. Go Jo hand cleaner is good too- but don’t leave it on too long.

For something like this I've used one of these style eraser wheels with good success. Just be careful with the heat.

@andya i should add that before I settled on GooGone overnight with heat gun and razor blade the next day (post #3) I tried alcohol, wd-40, acetone, flap disk, heat gun, propane torch, and a few other ideas. It took about 3-4 days from start to finish.
