Suggestions for 2000 Sahara build?

I just got my first Jeep about a month ago, a 2000 Sahara TJ with 150,000 miles on it. After taking about 2 weeks, we put in a new drivetrain, clutch, and chassis bar. I am looking to make it not only a Jeep that will catch people's attention, but one that will also be suitable for minor off-roading. Any ideas?
Trying to keep a lower budget, but there is definitely wiggle room.

On a budget? I'd throw on some 2" OME springs, Rancho RS5000X shocks, some 31" tires, and maybe some other small stuff.

Thanks for the reply Chris! I forgot to note earlier that I already have a lift with new shocks and springs as well as 31" tires! I am 17 and am not in need of new body equipment, looking more for exterior advancements (light bar, winch, front and rear bumper, etc...)

Most of these guys will tell you to ditch the light bar, but I say keep it! I personally like them on Jeeps. I just think they look cool. You might be able to check Craigslist for possible bumpers and other exterior items you might be looking for. Amazon is a good choice too. I usually get my Jeep items from Quadratec because I just like the way I have been treated when I have had questions/returns. It's your rig so have fun with it! Welcome to the forum!

I will tell you that with good LED headlights (read this thread here: Jeep Wrangler TJ LED Headlight Upgrade Options) you won't need a light bar at all, guaranteed.

As for a winch, that's always a really, really good idea too. I'd suggest checking out this thread: What is the best winch for my Jeep Wrangler TJ?

You could also go with some new bumpers. If you're not looking to spend a ton, this is one of the more popular front bumpers for the TJ. I used to have one myself!

Upgrade the stereo with an aftermarket head unit, Polk speakers in dash and sound bar and a Rockford Fosgate PS-8. That will rock!

What is your gear ratio? I have the same Jeep with 4.0L I6 automatic and 3.07 gearing and 30” tires. I’ve been thinking about going to 31” but concerned about drop in speed and acceleration.

my 05 came with 3.73 and have no real issues with 31"

I have a 3.07 Axle Ratio.

What is your gear ratio? I have the same Jeep with 4.0L I6 automatic and 3.07 gearing and 30” tires. I’ve been thinking about going to 31” but concerned about drop in speed and acceleration.

No issues with speed, but I also put 2" spacers on them for fear of hitting the inner car while turning. Also a great addition for TJ which adds a small safety component (which doesn't hurt) and makes tires look larger.

I can tell you with a 5sp. 31" and 3.07 gears. It felt like it was 3 cylinder geo metro. No get up and go. I can not say what an auto would feel like.

Thanks Man! I am planning on redoing the speakers, but I just ordered a new stereo that should add on to the feel!

Personally, I'd hold off on the light bar, at least over the windshield, it whistles and is really annoying. I have mine on still mainly to use when I hunt, other than that, it's kind of annoying.
And as far as "catching people's eyes", that only really works with other TJ owners, we/you are going to notice the Jeep more than normal (well, not normal) people will.
Finally, I have yet to figure out how to "budget" build a Jeep. Have fun with it, and do what makes you happy...and don't forget to post pictures.
